JOHN FRANCIS O'CONNOR
John O'Connor of RR 3, Goderich, died in
Wingham and District Hospital, on March
19, 1988, at the age of 85.
A retired farmer, Mr. O'Connor has suc-
cessfully farmed the family homestead all
his life.
' The last several years saw Mr. O'Connor
spend the winter months away from the
farm. Several winters he stayed 'with his
sister, Gertrude Leddy, in Lucknow. The
summer of 1987 was the first one he could
not stay on the family homestead. Mr.
O'Connor resided for most of 1987 at
Dryden Manor, Lucknow, and for the past
10 weeks was a patient in Wingham
Hospital.
John was born in Ashfield Township,
Huron County, on August 27, 1902 to Ellen
(Sullivan) and Michael O'Connor.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church, Kingsbridge and Knights
of Columbus No. 9484.
Mr. O'Connor is survived by six sisters,
Ursula Hebert, Maitland Manor,
Goderich; Monica Kasper, Burmingham,
Michigan; Elizabeth Murray, Royal Oak,
Michigan; Gertrude Leddy, Lticknow;
Elaine Leddy, Goderich; Marcella Court-
ney, Goderich.
He will also be missed by many nieces,
nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. O'Connor was
predeceased by two sisters, Agatha O'Con-
"nor and Jeniveve Kinahan, and one
brother, Norman O'Connor.
Visitation was at MacKenzie and Mc-
Creath Funeral Home, Lucknow. Knights
of Columbus No. 9484 held a service March
20.
The funeral was held Monday, March 21,
10:30 a.m., from St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church, Kingsbridge, with Father
Ed Dentinger officiating.
Organist was Denise Dalton.
Pallbearers were Jack Murray, Dennis
Leddy, Desmond Courtney, Norman Led-
dy, Gordon Kinahan and Terry Dealton.
Spring burial in St, Joseph's Cemetery,
Kingsbridge.
Leonard Christiliw
Leonard Christilaw, of Goderich, died at
Alexandra Marine and General Hospital
on Thursday, March 24, 1988, at the age of
85.
Son of the late Edmund and Elizabeth
(Kerr) Chiistilaw, he was born January
20, 1903 in Colborne Township, Huron
County.
Long-time a farmer in Colborne
Township, Mr. Christilaw was retired. He
was a member of Nile United Church.
Heis survived by his wife, the former Li-
ly Ellen Morris.
He is also survived by his daughter
Leone and her husband Gerald Blake of
Holmesville.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Ran-
dy and Marilyn Blake, Glenda and Gary
Netzke, Linda and Robert McMahon, Rick
and Patti Blake, Robert and Dorie Blake,
Ron Blake, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held on Satur-
day, March 26 at 1:30 p.m.., at McCallum &
Palla Funeral Home, Goderich. Rev.
Robert Roberts, of Nile United Church,
officiated.
Pallbearers were: Randy Blake, Robert
Blake, Ron Blake, Gary Netzke, Robert
McMahon, and Don Shannahan.
Interment Colborne Cemetary,
DUCK -Greg and Brenda are pleased to an-
nounce the safe arrival of Tabbatha
Tamara on March 20, 1988 at the Wingham
and District Hospital. Tabbatha weighed
in at 6 lbs. 10 ozs. and is a little sister for
Ashley.
WHYNE-Jack and Carol thank God for the
safe arrival at Wellesly Hospital, Toronto,
of their 8 lbs. 10 oz. son Darrin Michael.
Darrin is a brother ofr Jason. Proud
grandparents are Rose Whyne, Toronto
and Bob and Wilda Campbell, Lucknow.
