Easter Scene
Shining eyes of children
In quest of bright -hued eggs -

There were a number of friends and
relatives from quite a long distance to at-
tend the funeral of the late Sadie BIue of
Detroit, but was buried from the Lucknow
Funeral Home and will be laid to rest in
the Lochalsh Cemetery.
Mrs. Blue was born, raised, and went to
school in the area. The mourners came
From as far away as Texas, California,
Chicago, Illinois, Detroit, Michigan and
many places in Ontario.
Visiting with Dave MacDonald and
many friends and relatives in the area is
his daughter-in-law and granddaughter

The community would like to send con-
gratulations to Art and Jackie Simpson of
Kintail on the arrival of their second
daughter Rachel Colleen, born in the
Wingham and District Hospital on March
16, 1988. Rachel weighed 7 lbs., 12 oz. when
she was born, and is a wee sister for Abby.
The proud grandparents are Bob and Jean
Simpson of Kintall and Mrs. Clarice
(Mark) Dalton of Guderich.

The story of St. Sergius
Ashfield W.M.S.
Mrs. Ewan MacLean welcomed
members of the Ashfield W.M.S. to her
home on March 24. Mrs. Warren Wylds
opened the meeting with a poem and a
Russian Lenten Prayer.
Mrs. Neil MacKenzie gave the devotions
based on the scripture. from Mark 10. tell-
ing how Jesus met with the blind
Bartimaeus.
The Study Book was presented by Mrs.
Wylds. The story of the monk St. Sergius,
one of the founders of religion in Russia,
was told. His shrine is still visible, by
tourists and pilgrims.

Mrs. MacKenzie reported on the March

Business was conducted by Mrs. Donald
Simpson. We have been invited to a Thank
Offering Meeting at Trinity on April 17. A
collection was taken to be sent to Guyana
where there is a great need for money to
buy everyday things.
The meeting closed with an Irish"Bless-
ing and a lovely lunch was served.
