Kindergarten I has had a busy week. We
enjoyed using the computers. Friday was
really busy. We used the computers for the
last time. We had Valentine treats and
cards.
The Kindergarten II has been measuring
objects in our classroom using our bodies,
hands, feet and arms. We had a great
Valentine party and wish to give a special
thanks to the students council and the
parents for all the treats we enjoyed.
Mrs. Ottewell's Gr. 3 class, has been do-
ing Valentine activities and valentine
heart flowers. This morning we heard
Grade 1 - Grade 3 give speeches. In our
class we picked Carolyn Andrew and Erin
Meader to speak. Last Thursday we went
to Wawanosh Conservation Area. We fed
the birds and we played games. We have
two birthdays in February - Kelly McNee's
and Billy Tucker's.
The Dinosaur Den Treehouse Science
Lab Olympic Team worked on Valentine
centres this week, Our centres had math
activities and language skills. We also
shared speeches and poems together. We
learned a lot from each other and really
enjoyed listening! Mrs. Clarke found it ex-
tremely hard to send only 4 to speak in the
gym! We were very proud of Julia, Cathy,
•Caley & Tammy for their super speaking
in the gym! - and all our speeches and
kms!
Mrs. Tebbutt's grade 6 class would like
to thank Misti Humphrey and Kerri
Snowden for setting up the V.I.P. bulletin
board. They had put up keys that said
Values to Standards, Youth and the Law,
Stealing, Peer Pressure, Authority, Belit-
tling Others, and Danger of Drugs. The ti-
tle says V.I.P. is: Values, Influence and
Peers.
On Tuesday, in Grade 4, Portable 2, Sara
Cameron brought in nine pups and their
mom Duches to school. Sara's mom told
Duches to sit and she did. The class got to
hold the puppies. She told us to keep the
dogs in at night or another animal might
kill them or give them rabies.
On Wednesday, Feb. 10 the Grade 7A
class made a Valentine, heart -shaped cake
and gave a couple of the teachers a piece.
In gym we have finished our gymnastics
Reeve visits Grade Three
Wawanosh Nature Centre
All the Grade 3 students along with Mrs.
Johnson and Mrs. MacDonald visited the
Wawanosh Nature Centre on Wednesday,
Feb. 10. Despite the fact that we got lost on
our way there, it turned out to be a great
day. As we walked around the centre, our
guides pointed out how animals adapt for
winter, including many that hibernate. We
saw chickadees, a cardinal, a blue jay,
goldfinches, and a downy woodpecker. We
learned that a group of cros is called a
murder. We some some animal tracks and
tried to make tracks like a fox, mouse, and
snowshoe hair.
It was fun playing the game
"Camouflage". One student who was the
hunter closed his eyes while others hid in the

tried to find the others. It was quite difficult
to see people even though they were close to
the hunter. All in all it was a super morning !
