Last week's fifth bi-
annual quilt show, hosted
by the Five Star 'Quitters
build was proof that the
art ol'quilting is not dead
at .feast in our neck of the
woods!
About 200 quilted
pieces, 82 of those being
large quilts, were on dis-
play at the weekend show
at the Teeswatet
Community Centre, The.
beautiful work displayed
is a testament to the quit-
ters,
The Guild celebrates its
10th anniversary this year,•
The group has grown in
leapsand bounds £rot -i.
starting off with, 15 mem-
bers in 1988 to 85 mem-
bers today.
The Five Star 'Quitters
Guild is a charitable, non-
profit organization, The
purpose is to promote
quilting, to it prtn the
public, to improv 'skills
through education, to
assist those practicing
quilting and to do commu-
nity work.
The Guild meets the
fourth Wednesday of each
month at 10 a.m. alteannat-
ing meetings between
Lucknow and Teeswater.
