Pine]River girls
hold last reunion.
Forty -fie years ago 17 former Pine River girls
started holding reunions to keep in touch. They called
themselves the Pine -River Old Teen Circle, 'That first
• reunion was at the home of Fern Pollock in Fordwich;
with seven present. •
On Aug. 6, the grolip gathered in Ripley at Liddle's
Restaurant with 15 present.:This was the 26th reunion
:and the ladies deckled it would be their last.
Following dinner, they. adjourned to the home of
• Mary MacDonald for a, visit. Lila MacLennan gave a
short meditation on• "Waiting." Irene Bradley read
some humorous pieces, one being "Ma's Tools." And'ri
Bradley gave a brief account of the previous reunions.
Lois Pollock read "Old Folks" which described many
of the ladies 'own characteristics,. Alma Gillies read a• '
story on the life of Jonah..
• Mrs. MacDonald served refreshments before the
ladies bid adieu to one another,
