ruee Township's
motion for 'stay' denied
A move by Bruce Township to have
the restructuring process in Bruce
County stayed was denied on:Monday'
,atteinoon. -
Justice Burins heard the motion and
ruled that the motion failed "because the
appellant has not satisfied the court that
it would be in the public interest to grant
'a stay. rn my view, given the short time
that will elapse before- the appeal is
heard, the parties are able to make
responsible decisions as to what should,
or should not, be done to implement the
order until the appeal has been decided,"
if the stay had been grantedit would
have in effect been a -stop work order
pending:the :outcome of the appeal hear -
Two hours have been set aside to hear
the appeal on Aug. .
Stuart :Rea*chair of the Bruce
Reitructunng Committee, said he was
"pleased with Justice Borins's decision
which will allow municipalities to on
tittle to carry out the restructuring
process in Bruce County mai) the appeal.
