The Presbyterian W.M.S. held their Christmas meeting at the church on Wednesday, December 14, with a noon pot luck dinner, which 15 ladies,;enjoyed. Mrs. Tom McDonald presided for the business period and read a poem and had prayer. Winnifred Percy was in charge of the devotions, reading the scripture and giving the meditation. Each lady contributed a number for the program in keeping with Christmas. Then they packed the candy bags for the Sunday School to be given at the Christmas Concert and alsomade up the cheerio boxes for the sick and shut ins. We extend congratulations to the Rever- end Alexander Hewitt (formerly of here) and Mrs. Hewitt and family who have been moved from St. James Anglican Church, Fergus to his new appointment to St. Paul's Anglican Church at Westdale. Hamilton. His first service at St. Pauls was December 1. Before the Hewitt family left Fergus, they were given a farewell party and presented with gifts and a beautiful grandfather clock. Happy 2 They had made many friends in Fergus and had a successful ministry. We all wish the Hewitt family well in a new area in His Master's Vineyard. The Holyrood Women's institute sent their cheerio boxes to sick and shut in folks in time for Christmas: Charlie Murray returned home from Wingham Hospital where he has been a patient. Get well wishes are extended, Charlie. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois returned home after visiting with Karen Evans at Georgetown Hospital and other family members. Jean Hodgins of Wingham spent Tuesday with Edna and May Boyle and at the same home on Wednesday was Marretta Hodgins of Lucknow and Thelma Green of St. Helens. Some from here attended the Christmas Open House at the home of Reverend and Mrs. Philip Ruch and Jennifer at Ripley on Wednesday evening. Lois Nicholson is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Mei King at Mississauga. The Nicholson family Christmas was held on Saturday at the Parish Hall in Lucknow. Forty were in attendance. Their father. Dan Nicholson. was happy to be with his family.
