Matthew Carter, grade 4 Kinloss Central The Elves Don't Want To Work The night before Christ- mas the elves were tired and didn't want to work. They were sitting around grumb- ling about their sore feet. They had been working very hard for a long time to get ready for Christmas. They made teddy bears, dolls, trains, sleighs, and many more things. When Santa came to see them they told him they were too tired and didn't want to work any more. Then Santa told them how sad all the little girls and boys would be if there were no toys the next morning. When the elves thought about this they felt very bad. They started to work even faster and Santa left that night with a full sleigh.
