The Lucknow Sentinel, 1983-10-26, Page 19Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, October 26, 1983—Page 19 obituary Elsie (Steuernol) Haney A former resident of a Leopold Street home in the town of Wingham, Mrs. William Haney, passed away at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow, on Thursday, October 20, 1983. She was in her 99th year. The former Clara Elsie Steuernol, she was born in Howick Township on May 7, 1885. Her parents were the late John Steuernol and Amelia King. On May 22, 1907, she married William Haney at the Gorrie Anglican Church. Following her marriage, they took up residence in 8luevale and in 1917 they moved to Wingham. He predeceased her in 1956 and she continued to reside in Wingham until she moved to Pinecrest Manor in 1977. Left to mourn her passing are a daughter, Thomas Franklin Scott Thomas Franklin Scott passed away on Sunday, October 16 in Wingham and District Hospital in his 90th year. He was born in Huron Township on September 11, 1894. His parents were Robert John Scott and Ann Smeltzer. In 1927 he was married to Anna Mary McLennan who passed away in June 1958, and later to Margaret Guest who survives him along with a daughter Sheila Murray of Kincardine and two grandchildren Bruce and Suzanne Murray. He is also survived by two sisters Elizabeth Fair of Ripley and Mary Mrs. Jack (Dorene) McGee of Blyth; two granddaughters, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Errington of R. R. 2, Auburn, and Helen MacLeod, Belgrave; seven great grand- children and four great, great grandchild- ren. She was predeceased by a sister, Florence and two brothers, John and Nelson. The late Elsie Haney rested at the Currie -Walker Funeral Home until Saturday when service was conducted at 2.30 p.m. by Rev. Paul L. Mills of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where deceased had been a member, Interment followed in Wingham Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Errington, Rick Park, 'ferry Hodge, John Hamilton, Calvin McClenaghan and Harold Errington, Flower bearers were Sherry Hodge and Dennis Park. McDonald of Lucknow, and one brother John Scott of Ripley. He was predeceased by a sister Edna and a brother Joe, The funeral service was held in Ripley on Tuesday, October 18 in the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Ruch officiating, followed by interment in the Ripley Cemetery. The pallbearers were John F. Scott, William Scott, Robert Scott, James Scott, Don Murray, and Morris Leonard.
