Whitechurch ladies attend institute county rally

Holyrood WI, has invited Whitechurch
W,1. to celebrate their 70th anniversary at
Holyrood Hall on November 3,
Rena Fisher, Mrs, Elgin Johnston and
Mrs, Russel McGuire were the representa-
tives at the Bruce County institute Rally held
at Kincardine Thursday, October 204
Agnes Farrier visited last week in Toronto
with Mr, and Mrs, Carman Farrier and
Winnifred Farrier.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henderson of
Toronto visited Friday with Mr. and Mrs,
Bill Purdon and Mr, and Mrs, Wesley Tiffin,
Rev. John Bell of lnverhuron visited
Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs, Victor
Emerson,
Hanny Leslie and Phi11 Chadwick of West
Lorne visited Thursday with Mr, and Mrs,
Vic Emerson,
Mr. and Mrs, Walter Elliott and Karen
visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. David
Elliott of Stratford,
Visitors on Sunday with Cassie Mowbray
were Mr, and Mrs, Hector Purdon, London
and Mr, and Mrs. Relison Paironer, Sarnia,
Paul Mospen of Ottawa, a student at
Waterloo, spent the weekend with Jack
Whytock,
Betty Ross of Kempbrook visited on the
weekend with Olive Boss at Wingham
Hospital,
Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Des Roches, Joe
and Jerry of London spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs,, Carl McClenaghan,
The Public School pupils had Friday and
Monday off school while teachers were
attending Teacher Development Days.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, Darlene,
Sharon and Brenda of St, Catharines spent
the weekend with Mr, and Mrs. Victor
Emerson.
On Wednesday evening the Official Board
of the Water organization met at the home of
Mr, and Mrs, Victor Emerson,
The Hall Board held a dance in the
Whitechurch Hall with Tiffin's Orchestra on
Saturday evening .with a good crowd in
attendance.

Chalmers Presbyterian W,M.S. held their
Thankoffering meeting in the auditorium of
the church on Wednesday afternoon,
October 19,
The leader was Mrs. Rod Lamb who gave
the call to worship and welcomed all.
A litany of Thanksgiving was read
responsively. Mrs. John de doer gave the
meditation and led in prayer.
Mrs. Lamb sang a solo, There Is a Quiet
Understanding. The Lucknow society gave a
reading, Mrs. Dow from Brick church gave a
solo, My God and 1. Mrs. bear of Belgrave
gave a Thanksgiving reading.
Mrs. Alan Falconer introduced the guest
speaker, Mrs, John Dell of lnverhuron,
whose topic was 'thanksgiving. Mrs. Don
Ross thanked Mrs. Bell and gave her a gift.
Mrs, Millan Moore gave readings, The
Girl Who Smiles and The Early Settlers.
Guests present included, Lucknow after-
noon and evening W.M.S., Belgrave
W.M,S., Whitechurch U.C.W. and Calvin
Brick U.C.W. Mrs, Don Ross was organist.

Meeting 3 of Whitechurch 441 club was
held at Mrs. Purdon's home on October 12.
The minutes were read by Karen Elliott.
Members chose the name, Whitechurch
Pitnuts.
The meeting was turned over to the
leaders who talked about hair care. The girls
then went to Janice Robinson's hairdressing

Thankoflering meeting was held at the
church on Wednesday afternoon,
Mrs, Tom McDonald presided and opened
the meeting with a poem,
Mrs, Don Robertson, Mrs, Frank Maolden
and Mrs, Don Bushell gave devotions,
Ladies from the Pentecostal church sang
Open Out Eyes Lord, with Mrs. Cannon
Courtney accompanying them and she also
sang a solo, Alleluia to My King.

based her talk from St. John, chapter 15,
verse 5, She said we need to be fruit bearing

branches and we need to spread the gospel
of Jesus. Purposeful Christians are fruit
bearing, She closed with prayer and was

a token of their appreciation,
Meeting 4. of the Whitechurch Fitnuts was
held Saturday, October 15, The minutes
were read by Kendra Purdon,
The leaders discussed skin care. Each
member had a skin treatment including
cleaning, applying an astringent, moisturiz-
ing, steaming, using an abrasive scrub and
applying a facial mask to their faces. These
were all home remedies.
Mrs, Elliott talked about grooming aids
and the law, The girls played a game called
Consumer Action,
The fifth meeting of Whitechurch 4-11
Fitnuts was held at Purdons at 8 p.m. Cathy
Dow read the minutes, A discussion was
held on the Brook Covers. Next meeting
Thursday, October 27 at 4.30 at Elliotts. The
leaders talked about eyes and teeth care and
closed with the Creed. Jackie Lantinta, a
beauty consultant, showed us how to apply
make up. After we made ourselves beautiful
we thanked Jackie for coming and gave het a
little gift.
Refreshments and a time of fellowship
followed and each group expressed thanks
for the nice afternoon they had enjoyed.

Margaret Hedley of Kincardine visited on
Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Nicholson.
Edna and May Boyle spent a few days
with Jean Hodgins at Wingham,
Mt. and Mrs. Fred Jones left here on
Friday for Burlington where they will visit
Pearl Lloyd and Mr. and Mrs, Ivan Lloyd
before teturning to theit home at Moose
