The weather there was hot with a couple of showers. Two tornadoes touched down about 20 miles out of the city with quite a lot of damage. They had a lovely trip and it was so nice to see them all. Visiting with Rhetta Mac- Lennan for a few days were her daughter, Louise Millar of Palmerston and her son, George MacLennan of Toron- to. Visiting with Dorothy (D.A.) MacLennan were her daughter, Peggy Hefferman of London and her son, Finlay MacLennan of Kit- chener. Those with Finlay and Margie MacDonald on Civic Holiday weekend to attend the annual MacDonald picnic were their grandson, Thomas MacDonald of Fort Nelson, British Columbia; Bil1, Kitty, Caroline and Katie Coburn of Detroit, Michigan; Bob, Kathy, Phadea, and Ryan Robson of Grosse Point, Mighigan; Jim, Anne, Gregg and Jay Hosley of Sterling Heights, Michigan; Don, Jane, Allison and Patrick McKinnon of Paris, Ontario; Jim, Mary and Donald Mel- grum of Detroit, Michigan; Sadie Blue of Detroit, Michi- gan; J. On Sunday, August 7, at Varney Speedway, driving #71 "Mopar Muscle", was Bill Wilkins, who placed first and third, and Darlene Dunn of Wingham, who placed second in the Powder Puff race. This was their first night out. On the same night, driving #15 "Satellite Sensa- tion", owned by Jack Wilk- ins and Larry Blake, was Jack who had two fifth placings and a second.
