tour around the church build-
ing, starting with the two
small round windows either
side of the choir loft. One has
the wounded lamb on the
Bible with the seven seals.
The other shows the crown
and cross united. Both are
explained in Revelations.
She gave many highlights on
the Saints portrayed in the
other stained glass windows.
Most of the carving and fine
carpentry work was done by
Daniel Webster.
The beautiful railing
around the balcony contains
the symbol of the circles of
the Trinity as does the
baptism font and tables in
front of the pews. The Dove,
open Bible, tree of life,
grapes, letters Alpha and
Omega, are all part of the
Glory of God.
Helen Thompson spoke of
the large painting of Christ
praying in the garden. It was
painted by a young Lucknow
artist, Rexford Ostrander,
who will be remembered for
his artistic and musical tal-
ents and his many kind
deeds. He was less than 30
years old when a tragic
accident ended his life.
Mrs. Walden commented
on the beautiful memorial
windows at the front church
entrance and the towers
which were added some
years after the church was
built. A musical tribute.
Bless This House, was play-
ed by Mrs. Harvey Webster.
Mrs. Ross Shiells conduct-
ed the business portion. The
treasurer's report was given
by Edna McDonald. Annie
Kilpatrick and Grace Camp-
bell reported on visits and
telephone calls made to sick
and shut ins. Jean MacLeod
asked for flowers for the
church for June.
Helen Thompson pinned a
lovely corsage on Violet
Mintz to honour her 90th
birthday, June 26 and asked
her to relate some of her
memories, which she grac-
iously did.
The former Violet Morri-
son, she and her father drove
the dray in Lucknow. She
recalled when the organ was
installed in the church and
her days in public and Sun-
day Schools. She taught
school, then married at Pot-
ash Lake near Bancroft.
Their family consisted of
three sons.
A corsage was delivered to
Mrs. Murdock McDonald to
honour their 50th anniver-
sary. She was unable to
attend the meeting.
Mrs. Shiells closed the
meeting with a quotation on
nature and wished all a
happy summer.
