Lucknow ISMS meet
at Pinecrest Manor
The Lucknow Presbyterian
Afternoon W.M.S. held their
May meeting at Pinecrest
Manor. Many of the resid-
ents joined them for a
delightful program of music-
al numbers,
Mrs. 'William Henderson,
Mrs. Austin Loree and Mrs.
Alvin Mundell led in several
sing songs with Mrs. Bert
Moffat at the piano. Piano
duets by Mrs. Bert Moffat
and Mrs. William Henderson
were much enjoyed.
Mrs. Alvin Mundell played
several selection on the
mouth organ with Mrs Mun-
dell at the piano. Mrs.
William Henderson gave
several readings.
The meeting was closed
with prayer by Mrs. Jim
Aitchison and the W.M.S.
ladies served lunch.
A person pays twice for
cigarettes. Once when he
gets them and second, when
they get him.

Three members of the Lucknow School Junior Concert Band
played a trumpet trio at the band concert held at the Lucknow
Community Centre Friday night. Prom the left are Tony

Kinlough institute discuss education

The May meeting of the
Holyrood Women's Institute
was held on. Thursday after-
noon at the home of Bessie
Maulden.
Mrs. Charles Murray wel-
comed everyone and read a
Mother's Day poem.
Mrs, William MacPherson
read the minutes, the fin-
ancial statement and also the
correspondence which in-
cluded a thank you note and
an invitation from the Luck -
now Institute.
Mrs. Lorne Eadie reported
on the recent canvass for the
Cancer Society and further
plans were made for an up
corning wedding dinner, and
the District Annual to he held
at the Lucknow Legion hall
on Mav 17.

Mrs. Katherine Collins of
Ripley Was guest speaker

ed home after visiting with
relatives and friends at Lon-
don.
Gertrude Walsh of Kincar-
dine visited on Wednesday
with Bessie Maulden and
Keith.
Mr. and Mrs. John Scott of
Ripley and their cousins, Mr.
and Mrs. Douglas Collison
and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Hamilton of Vancouver, H.C.
visited on Wednesday with
Edna and May Boyle.
