service at the Pine River

The Clover Valley 4-H
Club attended their Achieve-
ment Day on Saturday, April
9 in Kincardine in the
Kincardine Township School,
Barbara Rogerson and
family of Toronto were up to
see Dorothy Finlayson on the
weekend. Mrs, Finlayson
returned to Toronto with
them and attended an 80th
birthday party in Brampton
at the home of Farquhar and
May McDonald in honour of
his mother, Mrs. Donny Mc-
Donald of Ripley. Hippy
Birthday Mrs. McDonald.

NOTICE OF APPUCATSON
By the corporation of the Village of Lucknow tor approval of the construction of
certain Sewage Works and the issuance of debentures as set out below and for
approval of the enactment of a proposed by-law imposing a Sewer Rate
1. TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Lucknow
intends to apply to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of:
a. the construction of Sewage works as described in Schedule A annexed hereto at an
estimated cost of S1,400,000,00. After allowing for a Provincial Government grant of
51,050,000.00, the sum of 597,500.00 shall be raised by a connection charge to 130
properties of 5750,00 each, and a further sum of 5252,500.00 shall be raised by the
sale of debentures payable over a period not exceeding twenty years. The Corporation
intends to charge a part of the cost of the works as a sewer rate for a period not ex-
ceeding twenty years upon the owners or occupants of lands who will or may derive a
benefit therefrom, and
b, the passing of proposed by-laws to impose such sewer rate to raise the whole or the
annual payments on such debentures, consisting of;
1 an annual rate estimated at 4.85 mills, on the assessed value of all the residential
property and at the rate of 5,70 mills on the commercial, industrial and business
property on all the lands in the Village of Lucknow, and
It an annual rate estimated at 2,42 mills on the assessed value of the residential
property and 2,85 mills on the commercial, industrial and business assessment
which use sewage service and which sewer rate would be in addition to that sew.

3, The sewage service mill rate and/or sewer mill rate may be commuted at any time
prior to the issuance of the debenture, pursuant to By-law 3.1982, by a payment in cash by
the owners or occupants of land, subject to said sewage service mill rate and/or sewer mill
rate, and such payment in cash shall be calculated by the Clerk•Treasurer of the Corporation
of the Village of Lucknow, or her agent to be the equivalent to the capitalized value of the
said sewage service mill rate and/or sewer mill rate payments under this Byalaw, and any
payment in cash for the purpose of commuting said sewage service mill rate and/or sewer
mill rate shall be payment in fill and shall not be a part payment of said commuted value.
4, There are no exemptions to be granted under Section 218 (14) (b) of the Municipal Act,
5, Any ratepayer may, within twenty-one days after the date of the publication of this
notice, serve personally or by registered mail on the Clerk, of the Village of Lucknow, at the
address given below, a notice in writing stating his objection to the approval of the
construction of said works or to the imposition of the special rate, and the grounds of such
objection and that if a public hearing is held, he or his representative will attend such hearing
to support such objection.
6. The Ontario Municipal Board may approve of the construction of the said works and
the issuance of the said debentures, and the imposition of the said sewer rate, but before
doing so it may appoint a time and place for a public hearing when any objection will be
considered, but notice of such hearing will be given only to those persons who have given
notice of objection as provided for above.

SEWAGE DUMPING STATION
- The construction of a submersible type sewage pumping station to be located on
Willoughby St. approx. 60 m W. of Inglis St. and consisting of two (2) submersible
sewage pumps each with a rated capacity of 13.7 L/s at 22 m TDH;
- the provision of emergency standby power in the form of a diesel generator set locat-
ed within a building located on the site of the pumping station;
- an emergency gravity overflow from the pumping station to Lucknow Creek.
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
- the construction of a 213m3/d package type mechanical secondary treatment facility
discharging to a tile bed system consisting of approx. 4260 m of tile located on the
north part of south half of Lot 56, Concession 1, in the Township of Kinloss.
FORCEMAIN
- the construction of approx. 1500m of sewage forcemain from the pumping
station to the treatment system;
