The Auditor's Report was
examined by Council and dis-
cussed briefly. Motion by

Probation officer Diane
Ewer, Lucknow, was guest
speaker at the April 11
C.G.I.T. meeting. She dis-
cussed problems for youth
including shoplifting, use of
drugs and alcohol, skipping
school, disobeying family
rules and consequences of
these for juveniles. Choosing
your friends carefully and
being able to say no to
suggestions of wrongdoing
are two important areas for
young people to consider.
On Saturday the CGIT
group sponsored Movies for
Children. The group raised
S49 for their foster sister in
the Philippines.
Sunday evening, the
movie, The Magic Math, on
the topic of death and dying
was viewed. Rev. Warren
McDougall and Anne Prit-
chard were resource persons
for the discussion following.
Next week the Lucknow
CGIT will entertain Dungan-
non and Ripley CGIT groups
for a Cherish Health Night.

of the Ashfield Presbyterian
W.M.S. was held on Thurs-
day, April 14 at the church
with a very good attendance.
Rhoda MacKenzie, presid-
ent, welcomed all.
Elaine Collins and Marj-
orie MacLean conducted the
scripture and meditation bas-
ed on the theme, Hope in the
World.
The choir sang, God's Col-
ouring Book, under the direc-
tion of Beryl MacDonald.
Judy MacKenzie introduc-
ed the guest speakers, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Campbell,
who showed their slides and
shared some of their exper-
iences on a European Tour
they had taken last spring.
Edith Simpson thanked there^~
guests.
Rhoda MacKenzie thanked
everyone for attending and
Rev. Hugh Nugent closed
with prayer.

SNOWDEN - Melissa is
pleased to announce the ar-
rival of her new baby sister,
Jodi Lynn, on April 13, at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
The new arrival weighed 5
lb. 15 oz. Proud parents are

By -Law 7-83 authorizes the
construction of the Borland
Drain (Colborne Township)
and the levy of assessments
on owners in West Wawa -
nosh Township for the cost of
construction.
Motion by Councillors
Hickey and Raynard, That
By -Law #8-83 be given third
reading and finally passed.
By -Law 8-83 authorizes the
repair to the Young's Creek
Drain by Colborne Township
and the levy of assessments
to cover the share of costs
due from West Wawanosh
Township owners.
Motion by Councillors
Todd and Brindley, That
By -Law #9-83 be given third
reading and finally passed.
By -Law 9-83 establishes the
Lucknow District Fire De-
partment as West Wawanosh
Township fire department
and regulates its activities.
At 3.15 p.m., Reeve Aitch-
ison necessarily vacated the
chair and a motion of Coun-
cillors Raynard and Todd ap-
pointed Deputy Reeve Brind-
ley as Acting Head of Council
for the remainder of the
business.
Council agreed to place a
congratulator advertisement
of 1/12 page in the special
"Jamboree '83" edition of
the Sentinel to be published
in late June.
The General Accounts of
$8,924.63 were passed for
payment on motion of ,Coun-
cillors Todd and Raynard.
