The Lucknow Sentinel, 1983-03-16, Page 12community news Junior Farmers donate coat rack to library The West Huron Junior Farmers met at Brookside Public School on March with 33 members in attend- ance. Minutes of the last meet- ing were read by Annette Curran, secretary. The treas- urer, Ruth Ritchie, gave her report and it was decided a donation of $25 would be made to the Huron Town and Country Homemakers. A card party, hosted by the club, is planned for March 23 at Brookside School. (,aures of euchre and crokinole will be played and the proceeds ‘II gra to the Arthritis Society. Plans were discussed for the Spring Formal April 16 and the barbecue and dance in May. The dub will be adding their name t' the sign of service clubs at the east and west entrances to the village of Lucknow. Tile dub chose this year's community betterment pro- tect, to raise $2,000 to be donated to the Lucknow Fire i)epartment to purchase their new paging system, The dub has purchased a coat rack and boot trays for the Lucknow Library and boot trays for the St. Helens and Dungannon Libraries. Junior Farmer History Books will be given to each of the libraries. The club is in charge of ILu+c$ now Sentinel, V1" y , Marra 16, 1983--Pogat 13 parking and camping for the Jamboree weekend in Luck - now and they will be working a food booth at the tractor Pull in Lucknow in July. On Sunday Bill and Marie Park, Todd and Brad and Gertie Park attended a birth- day celebration for Bill at the home of Steve and Debbie Park and Holly. Other guests were Mike and Val Bendig and Joel: Tom and Michelle Park; Vickie Park and Ted Henry; Wanda Park and Tim Hodges and Patti Park and Gary Johnston. A very successful euchre tournament was held on Sat- urday at the Agriculture Hall. Forty-four couples com- peted for the top prizes of trophies and cash. First priz- es of a trophy and $30 were won by Wes and Kay Nivins. Second prize of a trophy and $20 were won by Rob Boak and Brad Eliot. Third prize of a mirror and $10 were won by Doug Brown and Jack Tigert. Five hams were also given as door prizes donated by Barry Brown.
