Purple Grove Women's In-
stitute was held Wednesday
evening at the home of
Maureen Collins. Gladys Ar-
nold was the convenor. She
told about the Tweedsmuir
books and the history of Pur-
ple Grove.

weekend with Francis and

Sophie Foran, a familiar face at the Wingham and District
Hospital, was honoured by co-workers at a retirement dinner
held February 24 at the Wingham Golf and Curling Club.
Mrs. Foran, who graduated from nurses' training in Toronto
In 1946, worked at the W Ingham hospital for a total of 20
years. She was presented with tokens of esteem from Verna
Steffier and Dr. Jack McKim. Ln addition to hospital staff,
seven of Mrs. Foran's 14 children also attended the dinner.
