Bantams keeps series hopes alive with win
By George Gibson
Bantam activities centered
on the Teeswater series with
a Wednesday home game
and a Sunday afternoon
game in Teeswater.
Wednesday's game start-
ed well for the home team
but, after taking a two goat
lead, disaster struck hi the
form of eight straight Tees-
water goals, as lack of defen-
sive play by all team mem-
bers gave the visitors an 8 - 2
lead at the end of two
periods.
The break allowed the
team to regroup and they
took charge in the third
period. Constant effort
brought back some measure
of respect and resulted in
four straight Lucknow goals
to narrow the gap to 8 - 6.
The come back came up
short, about the five minute
mark, when Teeswater scor-
ed their ninth and less than a
minute later, their tenth,
Lucknow shooters counted
the last goal late in the game
to put an end to this seven-
teen goal shoot out, the
second in as many games.
Final score, Teeswater 10,
Lucknow 7.
Point getters for Lucknow
were Chris Collyer 1 goal, 2
assists; Jeff Gibson 1 assist;
Dan Gilchrist 1 goal, 2
assists; Andy Grazier, 1
assist; Scott Hackett, 2 as-
sists; Chris Irwin 2 goals, 2
assists; Darrn McKim 1 goal,

On Sunday afternoon, it
seemed that both teams
realized playoff hockey re-
quires more consistent play,
The fans were treated to a
tight defensive duel that
turned into a real nail biter.
After a scoreless first
period, Teeswater opened
the scoring at 3.04 of the
second on a goal by McFar-
lan. Lucknow tied the score
at 8,25 of the third on a goal
by Dan Gilchrist from Irwin
and Gibson.
Lucknow won the game at
3.26 of the overtime on a goal
by Darren McKim from Irwin
and Gilchrist,
This game, by far the best
of the series to date, extend-
ed the series to game four on
Wednesday at home, start-
ing at 8,00 p.m.
With Teeswater leading
the series 2 - 1, this promises
to be an exciting match,
Outlaws lose playoff
game to Bervie
The Orltlaws played their
first game of a three game
playoff series against Bervie
on Sunday night. The com-
bination of poor calls by the
referees and rough play, the
game was very chippy and
physical.
Bervie scored first and
then added another. Luck -
now came back with one goal
scored by Steve Chamney.
Despite excellent efforts
put forth by everyone on the
team, Lucknow could not
manage another goal, The
game ended in a 2 - I score.
