Juniorfarnwrs plan dance
The West Huron Junior
Farmers held their February
meeting on February 14,
1983 at Brookside Public
School at 8 p.m. There was
38 members present. Every-
one answered roll call by
giving an idea for our Com-
munity Betterment Project.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by our
secretary, Annette Curran.
The treasurer, Ruth Ritchie
gave her report.
Junior Farmer Week is
March 1 lth to 15th and the
Provincial Conference is in
Hamilton on March 18, 19
and 20. Anne Alton, Jack
Wilkins and Ken Irwin are
going to represent our club.
West Huron Junior Farm-
er Spring Formal is on Satur-
day, April 16 at the Lucknow
Community Centre. The
theme is "A Night to Rem-
ember". Tickets will be
available soon from any
Junior Farmer member.
Tickets are $10 a couple in
advance and $12 a couple at
the door..
The dub plans a euchre
party March 23 at Brookside
Public School, proceeds to go
to the Arthritis Society. It
was decided to try something
new this year, a barbecue
and dance on May 28 at
Brindley's Hall in Dungan-
non.
The club is canvassing in
Ashfield Township for the
Heart Fund this month.
George Whitby, chief of
the Lucknow Fire Depart-
ment, attended the meeting
to speak to the club about the
page system being purchas-
ed for the firemen.
Audrey Ritchie, who had
the Rose Bowl last month for
her work in the Junior Farm-
er Club passed the bowl to
Joanne Pentland for attain-
ing the Most Outstanding
Junior Farmer Award for
Huron County on January 8.
Meeting was adjourned
and recreation was led by
Annette Curran, Cohn Snyd-
er and Jack Wilkins.
Attend milk producers' meeting

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Breg-
man, Mrs. Roelie de Boer
and Fred de Boer attended
the Bruce County Milk Prod-
ucers annual meeting and
banquet held in Walkerton
on Monday, February 14.
Fred de Boer was elected
alternate delegate for Zone 2
of Bruce County for the
O.D.H.I.C. Congratulations,
Fred.
Wingham held their Frosty
Fest days this weekend and
although the weather was not
very co-operative for some
sports which had to be can-
celled the weekend was very
successful other ways and a
good crowd was in attend-
ance.
Robert Bregman returned
home Sunday evening, Feb-
ruary 13 at a month's tour of
Australia and New Zealand
on an exchange program
with the Junior Farmers. He
reported a good time and a
great experience.

(Pamela Springer) on the
birth of a baby daughter in
Wingham Hospital on Feb -

daughter for Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Springer.
Jamie Young of Lambton
College, Sarnia spent the
weekend at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Young.
Mrs. Reg Broome of Bel-
fast, who has been a patient
in Wingham Hospital for
some weeks, was home for
the weekend. We hope she
will soon be able to come
home to stay.

Young visited Sunday even-
ing with May Richardson of
Wingham.
The identification of the ladies pictured in
the Jamboree '83 photo in the February 18
issue of the Sentinel, was printed inaccur-
ately in last week's paper. Isabel Mac-
Kenzie's name was inadvertently omitted.
The identification should be as follows, from
left to right, Isabel MacKenzie, Fern
MacDonald, Mary Fisher, Kathleen Forster,
Grace Taylor and Grace Gammie. Back left
to right, Evelyn Little, Nellie Reid, Isabel
Mullin, Maud Sherwood, Marion Peterson,
Maudie Fisher, Kay McCormick, Winnie
Wins draw
David Finnigan of Lucknow won first
prize, a glass valentine basket, in the draw
sponsored by the Huronia Branch of the
Ontario Humane Society. The draw was
made February 12 at Suncoast Mall in
Goderich by Health Inspector John Orr of
Goderich.

of Montreal on February 16. The lucky ticket
#1489 was drawn by Rod McDonagh of
Lucknow.
Win tournament
The Lucknow Chiefs recreational league
hockey team recently won the Belmore "B"
tournament championship.
The Chiefs won the Lucknow and District
Championship last year 81 - 82 and finished
the regular season this year in first place.
