Kairshea institute holds curator's meeting
The Kinloss-Kairshea
Women's Institute met at the
home of Mrs. Cliff Roulston
for their Curator's meeting
on February I a.
Mrs. Leonard Macinnes
read the scripture. Mrs. Don-
ald Maclntyre, secretary -
treasurer, read a letter tel-
ling of, Rural Women's
Study meetings, to be held in
February and March. The
two locations closest to Kair-
shea are Hanover on March I
and Clinton on March 2. It is
hoped that many W.I. mem-
bers would try to attend
these meetings sponsored by
the Provincial government
with Molly McGhee as the
co-ordinator.
Mrs. Farish Moffat report-
ed on the Valentine Gifts
given to the two patients in
the Kairshea room at Wing -
ham Hospital. Mrs. Roy Fin-
layson reported on the very
good program held at Pine -
crest Manor, February 9.
The February birthday resid-
ents received gifts and cards.
A committee was named to
look after the next Lion's
dinner that Kairshea is to
cater to.
A decision on whether or
not to make a history of the
Second of Kinloss was tabled
until next meeting.
Everyone present signed a
get well card for Mrs. Lloyd
Ripley horse club
elects new executive
The Ripley 4-11 Horse Club
held its First meeting on
February 16, at the home of
Kelly Fitzgerald.
An election of officers was
held and the results are as
follows: president, Lindell
Cross; vice president, Anne
Doelman; secretaries, Lisa
Gamble and Sharon Mackie;
treasurer, Nancy Fitzgerald;
council representatives, Kel-
ly Fitzgerald and Lindell
Cross; advertisement Spec-
ialists, Lisa Gamble and
Mandy Stewart; press re-
porter, Cheryl Cuifierier.
This year's leaders are
Christie Messenger and Kel-
ly Fitzgerald.
The next 4-H meeting is on
Vet care and foaling. It will
be held on Friday, February
25, at the OMAF office in
Walkerton.
Trinity 4-H club discuss
food of pioneers

The first meeting of the
Trinity 4-H club was held on
February 12 at 9.00 a.m. at
Mrs. Marylou Raynard's
home. The meeting opened
with eight girls and two
leaders repeating the 4-H
pledge. Leaders for this club
are Hazel Hackett and Mary-
lou Raynard.
The recipes for the meet-
ing were prepared and while
they were cooking the girls
answered the roll call, Name
the country of your ancest-
ors. They elected officers as
follows: president, Brenda
Hackett; vice-president,
Sherry Nixon; secretary, ro-
tating, and press reporter,
rotating. They discussed
foods of Canada's native
people and pioneers, as well
as food from the British Isles
and French Canada.
Each member is to bring a
cover and club name idea for
the next meeting.
The meeting closed with
everyone sampling the dish-
es made which they found
different, but good.

of No. I Ontario potatoes was
drafted by Mrs. Farish Mof-
fat. It was passed and signed
to be sent on to the district
directors' meeting in March.
Mrs. Harvey Houston was
chairlady for the program.
Mrs. Harry Lavis and Mrs.
Donald MacKinnon gave
readings. A sing song was
enjoyed by alt.
Mrs. Houston presented a
very good topic, House Log,

Mrs. Houston read ex-
cerpts from a newspaper
clipping from High River
telling of the History of the
Hospital there. Mrs. Allister
Hughes worked as a nurse in
the very first hospital and
told of what it was like
nursing at that time. Mrs.
Houston had the Tweeds-
muir and scrap books on
display for the members to
browse through.
Mrs. Gordon Wall gave
the courtesies. A delicious
lunch was served by the
hostess and directors, Mrs.
Gordon Wall and Mrs. Leon-
ard Maclnnes.
