Township until 1973. Following a move to
Wingham, they moved to the Sepoy Apart-
ments in 1977 where Jean still resides on her
own'.
West Wawanosh Township questioned its
share of the capital cost of purchasing
property tin build a new parking lot at the
Lucknow Medical Centre. According to the
municipalities of Lucknow, Kinloss and
Ashfield the capital costs of the Medical
Centre have been shared on a 25 per cent
basis since the completion of the dental suite
in 1978. There is no written agreement to
this effect however, and West Wawanosh
disputes the cost sharing, Prior to 1978
Lucknow paid 40 per cent of the capital costs
and the other three municipalities paid 20
per cent each. Operating costs are still
shared on this cost sharing basis.
Tony McQuail of West Wawanosh Town-
ship was named president of the Huron
County Federation of Agriculture at its
annual meeting October 8.
Former Lucknow High School principal,
Noel Mason died at Brantford General
Hospital, October 20, in his 50th year,
following a short illness. Mr. Mason was
principal in Lucknow during the 1966-67
school term.

were acclaimed in the ' :2 municipal
election as was the trustee to the Bruce
County Board of Education, Alma Conn -
Armstrong. Jim Aitchison was elected reeve
of West Wawanosh and Gordon Brindley
was acclaimed deputy -reeve. Kathryn Todd,
Joseph Hickey and Bruce Raynard were
elected to council. in Ashfield John Austin
was acclaimed reeve and Allan Gibson was
elected deputy -reeve. Grant Farrish, Grant
Curran and William F. Andrew were elected
to council. Tony McQuail was elected trustee

Wingham and District Hospital received
an increase of nearly $200,000 in its
operating budget for the current year but did
not receive supplementary funding in the
previous fiscal year to offset a $146,700
deficit. The deficit in the previous year will
have to be made up by dipping into the
hospital's capital reserves. The additional
funding in this fiscal year should enable the
O
hospital to avoid another deficit this year.
Lucknow Christian School appointed Har-
ry Jansen of Holland as principal beginning
September 1982. Mr. Jansen, who emigrat-
ed to Canada in the spring of the year to take
a position at Lucknow, has 17 years
experience as an elementary school teacher
in Holland, five years as vice-principal.
Structural repairs to the support beam's in
the Lucknow Central Public School will cost
the Bruce County Board of Education
between $300,000 and $350,000 in the next
year. The solid wood beams in the roof have
started to sag and must be encased with
steel by using angle iron at the corners and
webbing down the length of each beam.
December
The Wingham, and District Hospital's
proposed building project was rejected by
the Ministry of Health and had to be scaled
down to make the cost more acceptable. The
addition to the emergency and outpatient
departments will be included in the project,
but the second storey, which was to house
offices for health related agenceies and
consulting, physicians, was omitted from the
reworked proposal. By .pensing with the
second storey of the at ition, the hospital
managed to reduce thef..iroject cost to S1.4
million and cut the ministry's contribution in
half. The hospital has asked the ministry to
look at the project again and awaits . its
approval.
