He was born prematurely at home and kept in hospital until his weight topped 5 lbs. The recreational group for adults held their Sport's Night at Brookside School on December 13, which coincid- ed with the Junior Farmer's meeting. , While the Junior Farmers conducted their business the sports enthus- iasts did their warm-up exer- cises. Then they played a volleyball game against each other which was much enjoy- ed. Next Sports Night is at Brookside on Wednesday, January 3. John Young is on a trip to warmer climes which will take him to several islands in the West Indies and to Venezuela -b_y__ Christmas Day - when his parents, Fred and Donna Young, are anticipat- ing a phone call from him. Little Douglas Culbert, son of Don and Linda Culbert, was taken to hospital in London early last Sunday with bronchial trouble. He is expected ,.home for Christ- mas. Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Eedy visited their daughter, Mar- tha, and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Bossence in Stratford last Saturday even- ing and went on to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bob , Eedy and family in Mississauga on Sunday. The Christian Fellowship Church Ladies' Bible Study Group met on Wednesday at Mrs, Liz Martin's for a special Christmas meeting of fun and fellowship which included contests and cookie exchange. Mrs. Lawrence organized the meeting at which 14 ladies were pres- ent. Mr. and Mrs. Art McMich- ael have returned to their home in the village. They had been living in Marlbank for the last four months while Art was working in that area. Scott, Jeff and Rhonda are back at Brookside School now. Mrs. Wes Rivett (Margar- et) from Vanderhoof, B.C., spent two weeks visiting rel- atives in Otis vicinity. On her return home she was accom- panied by her mother-in-law, Mrs. George Rivett, who will spend Christmas with the Wes.. Rivetts and return east early in January. Mrs. Sandra Rivett's par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jewell, of Goderich, are flying to Newfoundland on December 26 to visit their daughter and her family in Raleigh, Newfoundland. The Charles Dowell family moved to Vanastra last week- end. Scott Walpole, the 3 year- old Port Erie boy, who barely survived two dangerous open heart operations, at the Hospital for Sick Children, went home for Chri tmas last week. .
