GHISON "I enjoy teaching; that's why I stayed after the strike." Thisatement is one of the m ny from Mr. Gibson, the prekent-day biol- ogy teacher at F. E. Madill Secondary School, made dur- ing his interv;ew last week. During the session, he went on to add that he tries to create a friendly atmos- phere for his students where they ,have the independence to make their own mistakes. This responsibility, he feels, helps the students to grow and enhances their learning. He seems to be speaking from experience gathered from his own schol- astic days. Concerning the years when he was a student he maintains that he enjoyed going to school . and had fun there. He held his first teaching post at Lucknow District High School where he taught junior' science, biology, and geography to.a student body, which included his brother and sister-in-law, until the school closed in three years.
