Playing for the dance held in the Ripley Huron Community Centre Complex was. Glenn Boyd's orchestra. Best wishes of the people of this area go to Kathy and Boyd - both popular young people here. Reg is back home and Charlie is away. On Sunday Charlie Hooisma, Ripley butcher, flew from Toronto airport to Amsterdam for a week in his native Holland. Charlie will visit with his father on the happy oc- casion of his eighty-first birthday this week at the town of Joure in the province of Friesland. Next Sunday Charlie will fly back to Toronto. Reg Moore returned home from a couple , of weeks vacation. On Thursday he drove a group of Ripley folks to London - some to visit relatives in Victoria Hospital. People here are pleased to learn of the honour bestowed on Fred Martin of Lucknow and formerly of the Paramount area in Huron township. After being the president of the Canadian Clydesdale Horse Association for the past several years Fred was named honorary president of the, association at their recent meeting during the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Congratulations from this area go to Fred. Among the patients from this area who are in Victoria Hospital in London are Mr. Jack Blue and Mrs. Martha Huston both of Ripley and Mrs. Jenny Brotchie of Kincardine. Ripley folks are sorry to learn that Jack is so ill. On Monday evening of last week the November meeting of the Ripley Agricultural Society was held with president Jack Farrell in charge. Present were Jack and Janet Farrell, Wes Smith, Robert Osborne, Gloria Rutledge, Frances Godfrey, Cecil Sutton, Dan A. and Sheila MacDonald, John Gamble, Morley Scott, Francis Boyle, Gordon Patterson, and Ab. Wylds. Plans were discussed on further repairs to Knox Shed. Reports were given by the delegates who attended the annual District 10. meeting held in Wiarton on Sat., Nov. 4. Then Cecil Sutton used his slide projector to show slides of the Ripley Huron fall fair and the ones to be entered in the provincial competition were selected. Last Saturday evening a party arranged by the family was held at Woodland Court for Mr. and Mrs. Morrison MacKenzie. This was for their 40th wedding an- niversary year. Morrison is well known through this whole area and folks in this Community extend their best wishes to him and his wife Mary. Last Thursday Mrs. Joy McLean, M.rs. Dorothy Wardell, and Mrs. Mary Pollock along with Mrs. Margaret Harkness and three more Bervie ladies went to Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and helped entertain the residents at their monthly birthday program. Ripley Minor Hockey Jeff -Godfrey scored the first goal in a series with Mildmay, with assists from Darryl Verbeek and Todd Farrell. Mildmay tied it up two minutes later in the first period, and then scored again in the third for the win. On Friday night, the Atom "A"s again played Mildmay, this time to end up with a 1 - 1 tie. Mild- may scored their goal in the third period, and Jeff Gamble beat the goalie with just 4 minutes left to play, Good games, fellows. In Pee Wee "A" action, it was Teeswater 7, Ripley 3. Teeswater led 3 -0 after the first period, and then Shawn Morrison and Robert Campbell combined in the second for the only goal of the period. Tesswater then scored three times before Paul Keelan, assisted by Danny Wood, and Shawn Morrison, again assisted by Danny Wood, managed to get goals. However, Teeswater again scored with 22 seconds to play. At home against Lucknow, the Pee Wee "A"s fared better, winning 3-1, with all the goals in the second period. Alex West opened the scoring for Lucknow, but Paul. Harris, Paul Keelan and Kent Lowry answered quickly for Ripley. Mitch Twolan, Geoff ' Denstedt, Danny Wood, John Hawrylyshyn and Paul Harris made the assists. The Pee Wee "B" squad beat the Kin- cardine team 2.1, with all the scoring again in one period, this time the last. Ross Farrell took a pass from Luke Lemire.for the first goal, and then Bob Blackwell, from John Forester, scored. Sean Green, from" Scott Moorehouse, answered for Kincardine. The Ripley Juveniles hosted the Teeswater team Sunday night, the score was 8-0 for Teeswater.
