Aubrey's Observations......
CONTINUED FROM P, 17
to combat to make this part of Canada
what it is today? Let us consider the
Mennonite, who has discardedall
electricty including household plumbing
then look at his harvest and compare it
with his neighbours,. who have all the
modern conveniences.
There is every possibility that the
Mennonite is a little bit ahead.
No, I in no way can concur our
country going backward.
Progress means forward at all times,
but a pure waste of our natural
resources
oo not progress, and the waste
of d,wood most certainly not a step
forward..
Perhaps • we have gotten too smart,.
too soon,
It is much easier to push a button, or
turn a switch, but we are discarding the
thing . that made most of Ontario
famous.
This land was nothing but a huge
forest when our forefathers settled here
and now we are trying very hard to get
rid of the- last of it.
Inside of five years, wood is going to
be a valuable product. Wliy not use it,
instead of letting it rot?
The steam tractor. will give plenty of
power from just such refuse, I know,
I've done it.
I have every reason to believe that my
articles are read by not only the general
public, butby the council and reeve.
How about those school signs? They
have been asked for in a pleading
manner. What do you need, a dead
child?
