Wingham hospital auxiliary plans rummage sale.
The Auxiliary to Wingham
and District Hospital met at
St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church. Mrs. Passmore ask-
ed the blessing and the
ladies of the church served a
lovely roast beef dinner
preceding the September
meeting. The tables were
tastefully decorated in a
Christmas theme. There
were Christmas Crafts on
display and patterns to make
them were available.
Mrs. Don Vair opened the
meeting " with the Auxiliary'
prayer.
Mrs. George Michie had
the pleasant duty of present-
ing Mrs, Daisy Connell with
a. Life Membership and pin.
Mrs. Connell has been a very
active member of the auxili-
ary for many years.
Mrs. Passmore reported
there ' are ten active Candy
Stripers, but more are need-
ed, she would like to see
some boys take an interest in
this project. .
The Fall Rummage -Sale
will be held in the Wingham
Armouries in October.

Constable Greg King, safety officer for Bruce County, was at Lucknow Central Public School
on Monday to instruct the school's bus patrollers. Thies is the first year that buses from the
school have bus patrollers who assist the driver to keep order. Patrollers' responsibilities
also include knowing where emergency equipment is located on the bus and how to use it;
what to do in event of an accident where the children have to leave the bus; the exits and how
to use them. Patrollers also instruct children "how to cross in front of a school bus. The
patrollers in this picture are learning how to use windows as exits and how to assist the other
children to leave the bus through - a window.

was guest and had on display
many of her flower arrange-
ments, and showed how to
make several table centres,
and how to treat dried
flower's.
There will be a shower of
gifts for the Gift Case,
Boutique at the November
meeting.
Mrs. Vair and Mrs. Lorna
Stuart will be delegated'"to
the O.H.A.A. at the Royal
York in Toronto in Novem-
ber.
Another Proficiency
Award of $250.00 will be
given to a high school girl
with a sound academic back:
ground.•
There was an average of 32
patients bi-monthly at the
Cancer' Clinic during the
summer.
