Margaret Austin, chairperson welcom- ed everyone and asked each lady to give her name in introduction. Lisa Frayne did two dance numbers and Denise Dalton played piano flections. Al quiz involving things a husband should or should not do for or to his wife with words ending in er and are utensils or applianc- es used in the kitchen, was won by Teresa Courtney and Rita Howard. The brides were presented with gifts of money. Harold George Elligson of Stratford passed away at the Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, July 13 in his 71st year, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Dren- nan of Ashfield (sister of Henry Drennan, R. R. 7 Lucknow); one son William E. of Elmira, 2 grandchild- ren, 1 brother and one sister. The funeral was held at Zion Angelical Lutheran Church, Erie Street, Stratford on Saturday. Sincere sympathy is extended to Henry, Bern- ice and their families. Mr. Kenneth L. MacKen- zie of Ashfield Township passed away on Tuesday, July 11 in his 71st year. His body rested at the MacKen- zie and McCreath Funeral Horne in Lucknow where the funeral service was held on Thursday, July 13 at 2 p.m. Interment was in the South Kinloss Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife. Mr. P. Rovers of Holland arrived on Monday, Jul? 17 for a two week'vacation with Mr., and Mrs. John VanRooy and family and with Mr. and Mrs. Bill VanDyke and family. Mr. Rovers was accompanied by Mr. C. Raymakers also from Hol- land who will be spending his two week vacation with his sister in law, Mrs. Bill VanDyke, Mr. VanDyke and family. This community extends congratulations to Leroy Drennan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Drennan, R. R. 7 - Lucknow and to Annette Elphick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Elphick, R. Many area churches of the Diocese of London wererepresented. Father Dentinker assisted Reverend Father, Moore and Father Nolan in the concele- brated high mass beginning at 11 a.m., follo)ved by a picnic lunch on tile grounds. In the afternoon everyone took part in the procession of the Rosary, Benediction and the Blessing of the Sick. The weather was beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed - a real joyful experience. Mr. and Mrs: Bruce Var- don of Mount Clemens, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Maliskey, Marine City, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. 'Emerson Steffes, Marine City, Michigan; Mrs. Barry Vardon and Mr. Bud Vardon of Smith Creek, Michigan visited durieng the week with Mr. and Mrs. Henry 'Dren- nan and family and were guests at the Drennan-Elph- ick wedding on Friday, July 14. Mrs. Pat VanDoninck, daughters Nora and Kate and son Adam of Montreal and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Johnstone of Goderich visit- ed during the week .with the former's brother Peter J. Vogt, Mrs. Vogt and family and with her uncle Mr. Frank Sullivan. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sinnett, daughters Patti and Lisa of Detroit, .Michigan and Mrs. Sinnett's friend, Mrs. Joanne Surman and children' Leslie and Marty of Taylor, Michigan visited this past weekend with their relatives in this ,area. Reverend Father Lloyd Ryan, Church of Our Lady, Guelph visited with his sister Mrs. Clare, Walter and Mary Luanne and accompanied them to the funeral of Mr. Al Weiler of Formosa who passed away on Monday, July 10 at Immaculate Con- ception Roman Catholic Church, Formosa on Thurs- day, July 13. Several from this area: attended the wake and burial for the late Doctor Wallace of Goderich who passed away 'during the past week in his 75th year. He is survived by his wife, the former 'Dorothy Linklater, 1 daughter, 3 sons and 1: brother. Several from here attended the estate auc- tion sale held at the Auction Rooms, Highway 21, one mile south of Goderich on Friday, July 14 beginning at 7 p.m. Over 200 attended° a pig roast held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter VanDiepen- beek on Saturday evening, July 15. Two pigs on spits were roasted over open fires by several youth of this area, and with potato, cabbage and bean salads, and delicacies, sure made delicious feasting. Thanks to the boys for their fine work. A stag party was held for Jim Pentland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Pentland, R. R. 6 Goderich on Saturday, July 15 at Bob Mole's shed. Jim's marriage to Joanne Ritchie, daughter of Mr. .and Mrs. Leonard Ritchie, will take place on Saturday, July 29th in the Lucknow Presbyterian Church at 3.30 p.m. Several from here attend- ed the auction sale held for McDonald Antiques in the Ripley Complex on Saturday, July 15 beginning at 10 a.m. Mrs. Cyril Austin enter- tained with a "Fashion 220" party at her home on Monday, July 10. Nargon Kraaknan return- ed to her home in Holland on Sunday, July 16 following a 16 day holiday with her aunt Mrs. Theo VanDiepan, Mr. VanDiepan and family. Mrs. Jim. Sinnett, Bonnie, Linda and Jimmy returned home on Wednesday, July 12 following a ten day boat trip with Mr. Sinnett on the Paul H. Townsend. Carl Riegling was admit- ted to the Wingham and District Hospital on Wed- nesday, July 12 with pneu- monia. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Frank Riegling of White- law, Alberta flew to the Lon ion airport on Sunday, July 16 and is spending holidays with his mother, Mrs. Carl Riegling and members of the Riegling families, and visiting with his father, a patient in the Wingham Hospital. Ambrose Redmond who has been working in Ghana, Africa arrived home on Friday, July 14 for three weeks vacation with his family here. Mrs. Charles Schindler and family of Marysville, Michigan and Mrs. Joyce Middell and daughter of Alganac, Michigan -are spending holidays with, Mr. Michael O'Neill and mem- bers of the O'Neill families. Jim Sinnett, Chief Engin- eer on the "Paul H. Town- send", Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson of Grand Bend, Eddie Sinnett of the S. S. Gulf Canada are spending holi- days at the Sinnett home 1 here. Mrs. Art Bowler and family, Stratford, Bonnie and Teresa Bowler of Toronto are spe,nding holidays at the Bowler Summer home. Miss Carol Bowler of Toronto was a weekend guest. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vassel- la enjoyed a week's holiday in Toronto with her brother, Ernie and Mrs: Taillon. Together they enjoyed a visit to Peterborough.
