Briefs Tenders were opened at the July 11th council meeting for the repair of the town hall roof and the building of library shelves. The tender of M & J Roofing was accepted to reshingle the roof and install aluminum facial for $2,842 including drip starter. The tender from Carl W. Vincent of $4,750 was the only other tender for the job. The tenders for building library shelves were from Bob Struthers, $880 - $850 and Tom, Pegg $715. Councillor Hamilton observed that he would rather see a ratepayer of the village get the job. Since council knew Struthers' work and the difference in the two tenders was very little, they decided to give the job to Struthers. BY-LAWS PASSED By-law 5-1978, the subdivision agreement between the village and contractor, Gerry Glenn, was passed. By-law 4-1978 for lots 44 and 45 plan 36, zoning the lots low density residential was also passed. BRIDGE REPAIR Authorization from the Ministry of Transportation and Communication was received to repair the bridge 0 on Campbell Street to make it level with the pavement ascent on either side. The signs are located near the flower planters which the Horticultural Society have placed at the four entrances to the town.
