Wed 50 years
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Whyt-
ock. were pleasantly surpris-
ed when their family gather-
ed at their home in Tees -
water on June 15th and
presented them with tickets
to Edmonton by Air Canada.
On Sunday, June 18th
"Open House" was held at
their home "from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9.
Mr. and Mrs. Whytock
were married June 20th,
1928 at the home of the
bride's parents at Kinloss
Village.

the ceremony which united
the children of Mr. and Mrs.
George Bannerman and Mr.
and Mrs. William Whytock.
Rev. Johnston who is now
ninety years was unable to be
present. Rev. Johnston was a
former minister at Bervie.
Mr. and Mrs. William
Stanley, the -attendants at the
wedding, were 'present; the
pianist, Mrs. Grace Alton, of
Willowdale, also attended.
Following their marriage,
they farmed on the 10th of
Culross until 15 years ago
when they moved to Tees -
water, where they have since
resided.
The happy couple have a
family of four sons, Everette,
of Culross, Lloyd, of Luck -
now, Carman, of White
church, and Harold, who
passed away in 1968.
Congratulatory messages
were received from Murray
Gaunt, MPP, Huron Bruce,
Crawford Douglas, MP, Hur-
on Bruce, Bob McKinley,
MP, Huron. A plaque was
received from Premier Davis,
and a scroll -from the Hon.
Jules Leger, Governor Gen-
eral and Pierre Trudeau,
Prime Minister of Canada.
The Whytocks were the
recipients of many beautiful
gifts. Friends were present
from Windsor, Toronto, Port
Credit, Willowdale, Kincar-
dine, Lucknow, Wingham,
Georgetown, Walkerton,
Wroxeter, Teeswater, Kin-
loss and Bervie.

The July meeting of the
Holyrood Women's Institute
on Family and Consumer
Affairs was held at the home
of Mrs. William MacPher-
son.
Mrs. Lorne Eadie gave the
topic on "Heat and heat
conservation". She had
books and pamphlets dles-
cribing how energy can be
saved. Mrs. Harold Smith
gave a motto on "Food
Fads", prepared by Mary
Eadie.
A; report of the District
Annual held at Reid's Corn-
ers was given by .Mrs.
Raynard Ackert and Mrs.
Alex Percy. Mrs. William
MacPherson favoured with
two pleasing piano solos and
Mrs. Frank Maulden gave a
humorous reading. A name
guessing contest was con-
ducted by Mrs. Raynard
Ackert.
Mrs. Alex Percy presided
and Mrs. Jack Scott read the
minutes and correspond-
ence. Further plans were
made for the Lucknow Craft
Festival, and. August 31st is
the day for visiting the
Museum of Southampton.
Mrs. Lorne Eadie gave the
courtesy remarks and the
meeting closed with refresh-
ments served by the hostess.
In place of the August
meeting a bus trip is planned
to the Blyth Summer Festiv-
al.

PRESBYTERIAN W.M.S.
The Women's Missionary
Society of the Presbyterian
Church, Lucknow, entertain-
ed the ladies of South
Kinloss Society, and the
ladies of the U.C.W. of the
United Church, Lucknow, at
their picnic meeting on July
5th.
Mrs. Omar Brooks presid-
ed and opened the meeting
by reading a poem.
Mrs. N. Johnston gave the
Bible Study, reading Psalm
96 and giving -a good study
on praise.
Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Forster
of South Kinloss favoured
with a duet.
Mrs. Jas. Little introduced
the speaker, the minister's
wife, Mrs. Munshaw. The
Mission Study for next year
is to be on China. The
Christian Church is not in ,
China, but there are Christ
dans still in China. Mrs.
Munshaw showed a film on
China, showing the Chinese'
to be very industrious peop-
le.
Mrs. M. Henderson thank-
ed Mrs. Munshaw. .Mrs.
Moffat favoured with a piano
solo. Following the offering
Mrs. Brooks gave the offer-
tory prayer. Rev. Mr: Mun-
shaw closed the meeting with
prayer.
A social hour and tea was
enjoyed by all.
The July meeting of St.
Helens Women's Institute
was held in the ball on July 6,
with the president, Mrs.
Muriel Curran, welcoming
the members.
Mrs. Michael Naylor intro,-
duced the guest speaker,
Barb Zettler from the Energy
Conservation Office: She
showed slides and spoke on
ways to conserve energy. She
was thanked and presented
with a gift by Mrs. Harold
Cooper.
The minutes of the June
meeting were read and
approved. The secretary,
Mrs. James Aitchison, gave
her report.
Mrs. Harold Gaunt gave, a
report on the bus trip on
September 6th to Sara Lee
Kitchens, Agriculture Muse-
um at Milton and a shopping
plaza.
Mrs. Robert Aitchison took
the chair for the program.
The Current Events were
given by Mrs. Frank Me-
whinney. The motto, Waste
Not, Want Not, was prepared
and read by Mrs. Bruce
Raynard. Humor was added
to the meeting by Mrs.
Harold .Gant.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Gordon McPherson, Mrs.
Luba Weber and Mrs. Robert
Aitchison.

South Kinloss ' W.M.S.
enjoyed meeting with the
Lucknow W.M.S. and the
U.C.W. groups from the
United Church, the afternoon
of July 5th. Mrs. Wm.
Munshaw presented a . film,
and gave an insight to the
study for next year on China.
In the evening the South
Kinloss W.M.S. met at the
home of Mrs. Allan Mac-
Dougall for their July meet-
ing. The vice president, Mrs.
Lloyd MacDougall, presided.
The Bible Study was on King
Solomon, of Israel, interest-
ingly given by Mrs. Don Bell..
The offering and offertory
prayer by Mrs. John Mow-
bray, was followed by the
Prayer Circle,Mrs. Alvin
Schmidt, Mrs. Herb Buckton
and Mrs. Frank MacKenzie
taking part. Heather Mac-
Dougall played a piano
instrumental and Mrs. Don
Bell sang a solos.
The courtesies were by
Mrs. Frank MacKenzie..
The closing prayer was led
by Mrs. Jack Needham.
A social half hour followed
served by the hostesses and
directors, Mrs. Frank Mac-
Kenzie and Mrs. Don Bell.
