Andrew Forgrave, an Owen Sound magician. "Woofle dust is what does the trick." What is woofle dust, and how can you get some? find out at the Lucknow Public Library on July 11. The mysterious woofle dust and other secret ingredients will be featured in a magic show at the library starting at 2 p.m. The show is intended for children five to 12 years old and admission is free. Andrew Forgrave is the star of the show. With music, tricks, slight -of -hand, a bit of ventriloquism and illusions of every kind, Fprgrave promises to keep the children spellbound. A student considering a full time career as a perform- er, Forgrave has given numerous magic shows at schools, churches, libraries, fairs clubs, concerts, parties and on television. His troupe .of assistants consists of birds, rabbits including one that talks - and various balloon animals. Purple Grove Suttons celebrate 45th anniversary , BY KERRY BOYLE ,Home with Don and Alma Gillies for the holiday week- end were Valerie and Dave Gibson, Dan and Julie. The Sutton family and friends gathered Sunday at the Purple Grove Community Centre to surprise Lyman and Pearl Sutton with a party for their 45th wedding anni- versary. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Stark visited Friday evening with Cecil and Wilma Sutton, Robbie, Rodney and Tammy. Tiny and Don Robertson have returned home from an. enjoyable bus trip to the east coast. Roger „ Morrison of Luck - now visited Saturday with Heather Boyle and the rest of the Boyle family. Bryan and Janet Boyle of Peterborough dropped, in at the Boyle's Sunday evening. They had been holidaying with friends at Sauble Beach. Also visiting Sunday with Boyles were Herman Kueh- ner of Kitchener and Marty Bolte who came over to watch Triple Terror with Kevin. Irene and Francis Boyle are away on a month long holiday in Britain. They are planning on visiting Eng- land, Scotland and possibly Ireland if they have time. Mrs. Jean Barnes of Michigan, a former neigh- bour in the Purple Grove area visited with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson, Tiny and Don Robertson and several other friends and neighbours. She also visited in Ripley with Martha Hust- on, Don and Anne McCosh and Gladys Arnold. On Saturday Earl and June Elliott and Ian, John'. Joyce Farrell, Tania- and Teresa, Nancy and Paul Greenwood, Jean Paul and Joel, Steven and Janice Elliott and Lea of Upsala, attended the Ned Stanley family reunion at the Ash- field Township Park. Mem: bers were told that Mrs. Connie Osborn is the new President of Alliance for Life which'is the National Pro Life Group based in Toronto. A short report was given of the pro-life workshop held in the school May. 27, t. Irene Gilmore reported that 70 cards had been sent to the sick and shut-ins so far this year. Another report of interest to all was that former member, Anne Riegling, is now president of the C.W.L. at Whitelaw, Alberta. The Catering Report, given by . Jean VanRooy mentioned the Graduation Dinner on June 29th. Mothers of all grade 7 students and grade 9 girls will be asked to help. Some of the members helped the. Goderich C.W.L. members serve supper to about 40 young people on retreat day held in Kingsbridge parish. Members were reminded of the Pirlgrimage to the Shrine at St. Mary's, Ontario on July 13. A garage sale is being planned for later in July. Rita Howard is in charge. Tina VanDiepen and Grace Austin' will pack boxes for Comberemere on Thurs- day, June 8. Pat Howard, president, thanked all those who can- vassed for the Cancer Soci- ety. A thank you will be placed in the local papers. The president also thanked those who cleaned the church. As this was a joint meeting with Lucknow, St. Augustine and Kingsbridge at St. Augustine, • all three leagues then met together in the hall to hear guest speaker, Mary Luanne Clare, wEo gave a beautiful account of her visit to the Holy Land with her parents. This talk has won her many awards in public speaking., Betty Frayne intro- duced Mary Luanne to the members. Pat Howard thanked her for coming. Grace Austin then follow- ed with a comprehensive report of the Diocesan Con- vention ' recently held in London. Adrian Keet from Wingham then spoke on "Campaign Life" the new political arm of pro-life. Adrian also asked for help at the plowing match in Sept- ember. Pro-life will not only have an information booth .but also a. refreshment booth and many helpers are needed for these. Mary Boyle, president of St. Augustine C.W.L. thank- ed Grace for her report. She also spoke of the recent Retreat Day held by St. Joseph's, 'Kingsbridge. ,There' was some discussion concerning St.. Augustine's 75th anniversary celebration on Sunday, August" 6. St. Joseph's C.W.L. is being asked to, serve the dinner for. this affair. Mrs. Boyle also, congratulated Father Dentin - ger on his upcoming 35th anniversary of Ordination on June 12th. Teresa Courtney gave a report on a meeting she attended at Clinton of the Huron County Board of Edu- cation on obscene books and asked each parent to write to the Board and .'members of parliament concerning those books. Lucknow's president, Mrs. Gertrude Leddy, thank- ed the St. Augustine mem- bers for hosting the joint meeting. Mrs. Carl Riegling adjourned this part of the meeting followed by prayer led by Father Dentinger. The annual plant sale then took place followed by lunch and a social. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Potter, Sherry and Shane, who resided in the house on the Bridle farm on the eighth of Kinloss, moved last week to near Halifax in Nova Scotia where they came from a few years ago.
