Congratulations, graduates

BobRoss recently received
word that he had passed his
course in Drafting and Tech-
noligy at the University and
will attend the Fall Gradua-
tion exercises. David Ross
also passed his year at
Wingham High School with-
out writing exams. Congratu-
lations boys.
Congratulations to our
high school pupils as most of
them passed with a few
having to write an exam and
passing it. Passing on their
years work these names were
learned, Greg Gibson, Jack
Whytock, Richard Moore and
anyone else, also congratu-
lations.
On Thursday Karen Cur-
rie's graduatic . •was held at
St. Paul's Anglican Church.
This was the pinning cere-
mony and was attended by
her parents Mr. and Mrs.
John A. Currie. The follow-
ing night the dinner and
dance was held at Wood-
stock. The graduation was
held Friday afternoon at
Fanshawe College, London,
and was attended by her
grandmother, Mrs. John
Strong, Gorrie, Sandra,
Heather, Robert and Paul
Currie, Mr. and Mrs. Brian
Courtis, London, V. Peter,
Woodstock, and her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John A.
Currie.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
McClenaghan of Waterloo
and Mr. and Mrs. Michael
McClenaghan and Meredith
of Stoney Creek were Sunday

pital, London.

Laura left on Saturday for
Toronto to begin a month's
holiday starting with a family
get together of her family,
Rev. and Mrs. Hobbs at the
home of her .sister in
Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emer-
son, Darlene, Sharon and
Brenda of St. Catharines
.visited Saturday and Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson.
We are pleased to report
that Gordon Rintoul was
allowed to return home on
Saturday from Wingham and
District Hospital.

Susan and Heather of Lam-
beth and Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Laidlaw of Windsor on a
week's holiday.
Mrs. Agnes Farrier return-
ed home on Saturday from
Windsor where she had been
staying for 2 weeks with her
daughter, ,Mrs. Fred Davis,
and Dana, while her husband
Fred Davis, accompanied his
mother Mrs. Davis of Lucan
to the west to visit his
brother, Bob. On the way
home from Windsor they met
Mr. Davis and his mother at
London airport and brought
Mr"s. Davis to Lucan. Mr,
and Mrs. Fred Davis and
Dana will spend a week's
holiday here.

of Guelph spent the holiday
weekend with his mother

daughter Anna's 4th birth-
day, with birthday cake and
an outside party enjoyed by
guests Timmy Falconer, Ke-
vin Springer, Sherri and Dale
Hutchison, Karen Elliott,
Linda Versteeg and Liane
Young .assisted with the
party. All enjoyed outside
games. Anna received many
gifts from her 'guests and she
gave each of the guests a gift
to take home.

GORDON EDWARD VALAD
Gordon Edward Valad, R.
R. 7 St. Thomas died sudden-
ly in his 57th year on Friday,
June 30, 1978.
He is survived by his wife,
Margaret Anderson; a son
Keith, of London; a step -son,
Gerald Keates of London;
and a step -daughter, Sharon,
Mrs. Peter Hopps of Peter-
borough. He is also survived
by his mother, Mrs. Ellen
Valad, of Riversdale and by
his brothers, Howard, Jerry,
Norman, and Ed, all 01
Riversdale. He is also surviv-
ed by his sisters, Wilma,
Mrs. Doug Moore, of Rivers.
dale; Adeline, Mrs. Tony
Hein, and Mildred, Mrs. Ed
Heidmiller, both of Walker-
ton; and Dorothy, Mrs. Grant
Eckenswiller of Holyrood.
Six grandchildren survive.
He was predeceased by his
father, the tate Albert Valad.
Friends . were received at
the A. Millard George Funer-
al Home, Rideout Street,
London and the funeral mass
was conducted from St.
Joseph's Catholic Church,
Charles Street at Mount
Pleasant Avenue on Tues-
day, July 4 at 9 a.m.
