This morning Provincial Constable
P. E. McCoy received a call asklrg
what sbould be done with a deer found
dead on the shore of Lake Huron,
some distance south of Bayfle'd. Tbe
officer Investigated, but found the
deer bad been exposed too long atter
death, It being bad:y decomposed. The
animal apparently had died of ex-
haustion, possibly after a long swim,
and Ind just managed to drag Itself
agbore before 1t collapsed. It is
thought It -may have been the victim
of a chase. The officer ordered the
deer's burial.
On Thursday last the combined con-
gregations of Erskine Presbyterian
church, vuuganaon, and Lucknow Pres-
byterian churn h enjoyed a picnic at
Harbor Park. The picnic was under
the supervision of Rev C. 11. MacDon-
ald, of Lucknow. Supper was served
In the park pavilion after a program
of sports. Tie picnic was well at-
tended.
