KAIRSHEA KOOKIE KAMPERS
An enjoyable 4-H meeting was
shared by the Kairshea Kookie
Kampers on Friday, May 12th.
President, Murray Gilchrist, op-
ened the meeting with the 4-H
Motto which was followed by the
minutes given by Nancy Halden-
by. Chib names were suggested
and Kathy Parker's idea "Kair-
shea Kookie Kampers" was voted
unanimously.
Leaders, William and Irene
Dickie, •showed the members
pictures of tents and discussed
what type of excursions .they
would be used on, and the
approximate weight of the tents.
Following the business and
discussion portion"of the meeting,
we rode to the back of Dickie's
bush for a cook out supper.
William played the role of chef
and cooked delicious hamburgers
and hot dogs. He stressed safety
precautions to take when building
a fire and extinguishing it.
The meeting closed after doing
exercises outside, and the mem-
bers all agreed to join together for
the third meeting of "Outdoor
Living".
ST. HELENS SEED SOWERS
The second meeting of the St.
Helens Seed Sowers was held in
the St. ,Helens hall, on May 3.
The leaders read from their
pamphlets and the members
answered the questions from
their pamphlets.
The members practised their
skit for Achievement Day.

An Asthma workshop was held
at the school on Tuesday, May 23.
The workshop dealt with how to
look after the asthmatic child in
the classroom. Parents and the
community were 'invited to at-
tend.
Congratulations to Liz Vogt
(Toronto) and 'Carol Foran (Sas-
katchewan) who won the House
League Euchre Championships at
the school defeating Diane Van-
Osch and Jackie Dalton.
Corigratulations to Tommy Gil-
more, 10 year old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Gilmore, Lucknow,
who won the Ontario Provincial
Baton Twirling Championship in
the Juvenile division (boys `7 to
10) and placed first in the Open
Contest held in Markham on
Sunday, May 21.
A cleaning bee was held • on
Wednesday, May 17 to clean St.
Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge.

Gertrude Walsh in the passing of
her brother, the late Henry Scott.

Members of the Holyrood
Women's Institute attended the
District Annual meeting at Reid's
Corners, May 16th.
In the Tweedsmuir competi-
tion, Mrs. Elwood Elliott for her
afghan and Mrs. Marion Harris
for her oil painting, each brought
honour to themselves and to the
Institute in being placed second
in the competition. Congratula- •<
tions ladies.
At the Presbyterian Church
service on Mother's Day, Sarah
Patricia, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Glen Haldenby and Andrew
Victor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry
Johnston were baptized.

Delbert Nesbitt, son of the late
