ston travelled to London on
Saturday, May 13 where Bernice
competed in the Ontario finals of
the Presidents, Secretaries and
Treasurers Bowling Tournament
sponsored by the Thomas Adams
Distillers Limited. The tourna-
ment was held at the Bowl -A -
Rama Lanes.
THAT
JoanLivingston was admitted to
hospital. in London on Friday,
May 12 for surgery, and returned
home on Saturday, May 13.
THAT
Ray Hogan, R. R. 3 Lucknow,
won the $1,000 in last week's
Lottery draw. -

LUCKNOW 4-121 CALF CLUB
The second meeting of the
Lucknow 4-H calf club was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Alton of Ashfield Township on
May 10.
The minutes were read by our
secretary, Gordon Alton. The
members then went to Ken's barn
where he had two. classes of
Hereford steers and bulls which
the members judged and gave
reasons for the placing of the
classes.
A quiz was conducted on the
topic for this month, "History of
buildings and homestead plan-
ning."
Lunch was prepared by Mrs.
Alton. Grace Alton, president of
the club thanked the hostess and
adjourned the meeting.
ZIPPY TRINETTES U
The second meeting of Zippy
Trinettes II, garden club was held
May 8 at Donna Hackett's home.
Mrs. Blake discussed prepar-
ing the soil, growing young plants
for transplanting and planting the
garden. Miss Ritchie discussed
looking after your garden and
planting and care of flowers.
For group work each member
displayed their vegetable and
flower seeds and garden plans.

The first meeting of the
Donnybrook 4-H club for the
topic, Preservation of Fruits and
Vegetables was held at June
Rob inson" s home.
Election of officers resulted in
the following: President, Doreen
Jefferson; Vice President, Kath-
leen Foran; Treasurer, Betty Jane
Foran; Secretary and Press Re-
porter, revolving; Telephone
Girls, Ellen Thompson and Carol
Foran.
Cathy discussed planting vege-
tables and flowers, canning fruits
and vegetables and making a
reference file. .
CAMPING CUTIES
The second meeting of the
Camping Cuties was .held on May
10th. Following the business they
discussed the hike on May 22.
The leaders led in, a discussion
on Heat Sources.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kina-
han, London, visited with Mrs.
Genevieve Kinahan, and Mr. and
Mrs. Will Kinahan, St. Augustine
on Mother's Day Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim MacMillan
and ,chjidren, Greg and Mary Jo,
of St. Catharines, spent Mother's
Day with their parents,

received through baptism, David
Christopher, son of Mr. and Mrs.
David Button, Lucknow, and Amy

James J. and Lynne Houston,
Toronto, spent the weekend in
Lucknow with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Harvey J. Houston, and
were also guests Sunday after-
noon of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Houston and Amy. .

JUNIOR 'SAME R S
The regular meeting of the
West -Huron Junior Farmers was
held on May 8 at Brookside Public
School.
The members decided to plant
4,000 trees for Jim MacKenzie of
R. R.1 Lucknow, as one of their
Community Betterment Projects.
Murray Irwin is hosting James
Kilpatrick who is a representative
from Australia. The club will hold
a baseball game on May 21 so
James can meet everyone.
They also discussed when to
put up the signs which the club
has purchased for in front of the
Lucknow Medical Centre.
Jim Pentland gave a report on
the booth the club will sponsor for
the Tractor Pull in July.
Miss Winnie Stewart and Miss
Leslie Stewart of London, Mr. and
Mrs. Allan Stewart and John of
Burlington spent Sunday with
Mrs. Philip Stewart.
Mrs. Frank Leddy, Mr. and
Mrs. Norman Leddy, Amy and
Lisa, Goderich, spent a Sunday
recently with Mr. and Mrs. R.
Leddy.
' Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Leddy,
Mrs. Bruce Thomson, Donna,
David and Danny Joseph attend-
ed the First Communion Mass at
St. Augustine Church, St. Augus-
tine, on Sunday, May 14th. They
also spent Mother's Day at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Leddy, Diana and Kevin.

Kloostra, Teeswater, wish to

Darryl Thys, on May 5, 1978, at
Wingham and District Hospital.
