Children's. Aid. receive donation
The Children's Aid Society of
Bruce County has received a
generous donation from the Bruce
Nuclear Power Development
Charity Fund. The donation,
which came unannounced, is part
of the proceeds from the BNPD
1977 Charity Drive.
This money will be used to help
finance projects sponsored by the
Volunteer Services of the Society.
At present, they are preparing for
summer activities; and will be
sponsoring a number of children
for a week at summer camp. In'
the past, some children have been
provided with swimming lessons,
as well. During other seasons of
the year, the Volunteers assist
children with fees for skating
lessons and minor hockey. On
occasion, badly needed equip-
ment is purchased for such
activities. In addition, families
are sometimes helped to purchase
furniture, appliances and clothing
which they are unable to obtain
on their own.
At this time, the Society would
like to publicly express its thanks
to the employees at Bruce
Nuclear Power Development for
their generosity ' and . concern.
Their donation will help make the
wheels of service run -a little more
smoothly in the coming months.
A gymnastics ballet to the music of the BeeGees from Saturday
Night Fever was a feature of the gymnastics demonstration at.
Lucknow. Central Public by the students from Vanier Public School
in Brockville. A series of head stands, cartwheels, backward walk
overs and rolls timed to music made an interesting display of
gymnastic technique.
