Mrs. Jim McNaughton has
arrived home after spending four
weeks in Scotland, where she
attended the funeral of her father,
John Terras, of Markinsh, who
passed away on March 18th in his
91st year.
Mrs. L. C. Thompson and Mrs.
Stuart Collyer, Lucknow, spent
last weekend in Norwood with
their sister, Mrs. Ron Rothwell.
They accompanied Mr. and Mrs.
Rod McFarlane of Brampton, who
visited in Napanee with Mr. and
Mrs. Tim Collyer.
BREWER - Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Brewer, R. R: 4 Wingham, are
pleased to announce the arrival of
their daughter, Marjorie Lucille,
at Wingham and District Hospit-
al, on Thursday, April <20, 1978.
FENTON - Mr. and Mrs. Douglas
Fenton, R. R. 1 Belgrave, are
happy to announce the arrival of a
son, Douglas Eugene, on Friday,

The "Happy Hoers" held their
first meeting on April 9th with
five members present. Patti
Rising opened the meeting with
the pledge. The results of . the
election of officers were presid-
ent, Sharon Pollock; vice 'presid-
ent, Janice Pollock; secretary,
Patti Rising; press reporter,
Donna Freeman; treasurer, Trac-
ey Rising.
Alma Black, had a quiz on
identifying flowers. She showed a
flip chart demonstrating the best
places to plant a vegetable
garden. Then Mrs. Black con-
ducted a quiz on identifying
vegetables. Joyce Dougherty had
a flip chart made like a garden
and the girls had to choose the
best places to plant each individ-
ual vegetable.
ST. HELENS LIVELY SIX
The sixth meeting of the St.
Helens Lively Six was held in St.
Helens Hall on April 12.
The leaders brought articles
April 21, 1978, at Wingham and
District Hospital.
MacDONALD - to Mr. and Mrs.
Donald C. MacDonald (nee Pat-
ricia King) of Kincardine, in
Kincardine General Hospital, a
daughter, Julie Dawn, on Thurs-
day, April 13th, 1978. A sister for
Jonathan.

CLOVER VALLEY 4-H
The first meeting of the Clover
Valley summer club, "Outdoor
Living" was held at Karen
Metzger's on April 12.
Election of officers included:
president, Joan Osborne; vice
president, Dorothy Martin; treas-
urer, Sheila Osborne and secret-
ary;'""Charlene Elphick. Press
reporter will be rotated.
Donna Elphick outlined the
club and Karen Metzger discus-
sed the topic "Why Be Fit?" and
the members started a fitness
program. Donna Elphick then
discussed the camping equipment
necessary for trips this summer
and where the club could go on
their outings. The members were
told how to press flowers,' leaves,
etc. and how to use them to
decorate different articles.

DOG OWNERS
Lucknow Village Council has engaged the
services of an Animal Control Officer.
Effective Saturday, April 1, 1978, any dogs
running at' Targe will be considered as strays and
will be dealt with under bylaw 1978-50.
Licences are now available at the Municipal Office.

a few days with the former's
father, Orland Richards. Orland
returned home with them on
Saturday, April 22, for a short
