The Lucknow Sentinel, 1978-04-26, Page 28{( Correspondent likes The Kinlough Correspondent for the Lucknow Sentinel, May Boyle, likes to write and when the Sentinel reporter went to inter- view her, she had written an article about herself. Our feature on the Kinlough Correspondent has a personal touch and a message from May - to her readers. This is our Kinlough Corres- pondent, May Boyle, who has sent in faithfully the weekly news budget of this area for over 50 years. - (Has anyone been any longer?) Being the local corres- pondent entails a lot. of time, interest and a love for your home and community. Several folks I am deeply grateful to who will phone regular and give their news. While others are the ones that do not want their name in the paper. In this way there are no doubt many interest- ing bits of news overlooked. But it is very encouraging when one receives a letter from Western Canada and the States saying, "I love the day the Sentinel comes. Its news from back home and the first thing I look for is the Kinlough News." May has lived all her life in and around Kinloi gh and has taken a keen interest in the community. She is a faithful member of the _Kinlough Anglican Church and has been in the church choir for over 60 , years. She has taught Sunday School for many years and is the past president of the Anglican Church Women. May helped for many years in homes caring for the elderly or looking after the home and the children while parents were away. This she loved and has to write Kinlough many cherished memories. Ev- eryone was so good to me, 'she said. She loves writing and wonders through the years just how many bridal shower addresses, anniver- sary • addresses or farewell ad- dresses she has written. Shq has a historical hobby and scrapbooks of clippings of all, kinds. She also enjoys knitting and making crib quilts, (the only size our sfnall home will accom- modate). I owe a great debt of gratitude to my sister, Edna, who will take down from a phone call and write the news column, ready for 'the mail, if I am not there to do it. And to all our faithful readers near and far I send my love and this poem.
