1 plan on being. married in September and am
wondering if this will affect My credit status in any
way.
Yes. Your abirity to obtain credit can be affected,
but credit granters should not let one spouse's poor
status have any greater °influence on the other's
ability to obtain credit than. if the situation were
reversed.
You can still obtain credit in your own name and
accept responsibility for all debts you contract. If
you rely on your husband's income, however,
lenders will often request that your husband co-sign
any credit forms, because even if you have your
own income and an established credit history, yoir
husband's signature may be required for a major
credit transaction.
Can IMPACT answer me the following questions,
please:
(1) Who is eligible to run for The Bruce County
Board of Education.
(2) If that person had a close relatiye working for
The Board, is he eligible?
(3) Are qualifications the same for all Education
Boards in Ontario?
(1) A resident of the municipality: A Canadian
citizen or British subject.. Minimum of 18 years of
age: If a person should move into the municipality
after the census is taken, (the first week in Sep-
, tember) the clerk may say no. The clerk certifies
the nominee.
(2) Yes, the person is eligible as long as he,
himself is not employed by the board. '
(3) Yes, the election of trustees to the board falls
under the Ontario Municipal Elections Act.
Ripley
Hockey'
News
BY MRS. ELAINE POLLOCK
The coaches and managers of
the Ripley minor hockey met last
Wednesday night under chairman
John Kelly.
The past season was reviewed
and was felt to be successful
Participation in the Kincardin
Douse League seemed to go well
and should continue. Lost equip
ment was found. George Kenney
Port Elgin, past president of the
WOAA, and currently with the
OMHA, passed on some thoughts
about referees, coaching clinics,
and the basic ,structure of the
WOAA and OMHA. For our
benefit, and the benefit of others,
we must get behind the work
within these organizations.
The possibility of hosting a
coaches clinic next year, and also
holding a house league tourna-
ment were discussed. Another
meeting will be held in May to
further discuss and possibly
organize this house league tour-
nament.
