The W.I. made a. donation to. the
. Menary family whose house was
burned. Willetta McWhinney and
Peggy Purdon were hostesses.
DUNGANNON
AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
The February meeting of the
Dungannon Agricultural Society
was held in the hall on Tuesday,
February 28 with vice president
Bob Wright in charge.
Louise Brindley gave .a report
on the convention of Ontario
Association of Agricultural Soci-
eties which was held in the Royal
York Hotel in Toronto on Febru-
ary 15-16. Those attending from
the local society were Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Snyder, Ella Red-
mond, • and Louise, .Brindley.
Wayne Snyder -radded a few
comments to Mrs. Brindley's
report:'
Tickets are available from'. the
directors for the Spring Dance
which will be held on April 29 at
Saltford Hall. Tickets for a 50-50
draw axe available from Bob
Wright. The draw will be made at
the dance on April 19. The Society
discussed plans f+r a card party to
be held in the hall on Wednesday,
March 15.
DUNGANNON 3 4-H:CLUB

The second meeting of the
`Dungannon 3 4-H club was held
at the home of Alma Black on
February 27. Patti Rising opened
the meeting with the pledge 'and
10 members answered the roll
call.
Joyce Dougherty displayed the
model'of the pincushion that each
girl is to make. Pieces of material,
quilting needles, thread and
cotton batten were passed to' each
member and everyone started to
work on the face of the cushion.
Since Baby Care is part ' of this
course and there was a baby in
the house, she was chosen to be a
model. Patti Rising and Sharon
Pollock undressed 7 month old
Kelly and Mrs. Black bathed her.
Mrs. Black and Joyce Dougherty
gave the club pointers on the
correct way .of holding, dressing,
etc. of a baby..
Tracey Rising closed the meet-
ing with the 4-H Grace. The next
meeting is on Monday evening,
March 6, at Mrs. Black's.
Brookside Happenings.

The students played several
volleyball games against the
teachers this week, the All Star
Boys and Girls teams and the
Winning boys and gills intermural
volleyball -teams with the teachers
winning all games.
Boy's hockey was played on
Wednesday when the Sharp-
shooters defeated the Bush-
whackers 7-6. This was the last
hockey game of the season for the
boys.
The school pingpong champion
is. Bernie Burgsma. Bernie beat
Jeurgen Kulle in a very close
game 21-19.
Girl's hockey is being played. on
Friday, March 3rd.
Twenty seven children regist-
ered for Kindergarten on Friday
morning and received, their med-
ical checkout from the Public
Health Nurses. Mrs: his Farrish
had both this year's classes in
attendance on Thursday 4so on
Friday she was able to meetthose
registering for -next year and their
mothers.
Duane Rivetf'received a cut lip
from a hockey stick used in•play at
school on Monday and • had to
have a few stitches. .
The Mickey Mouse, group from'
Grade 2 made butter on Thursday
under the direction of Mrs. Bere.
