The February meeting of the
United Church Women was held
at the manse with 13 ladies in
attendance. A dessert luncheon
was served by Tinie Logtenberg
and Amy Wiggins. ,
Mrs. Westhaver opened the
meeting with the UCW motto and
the call to worship. The theme of
the meeting was, "Love". Donna
Alton read the scripture which
was followed by the Lord's
Prayer.
The meditation was in the form
of an interesting monologue in
which Donna Alton tore pieces off
a large red heart as she read
paragraphs about various sins we
are prone to commit. Then she
held up a whole heart to
demonstrate how Christ can
,restore a heart fragmented by
sins. Mrs. Westhaver read a
poem, "Our Valentine Wish".
The offering was.reeeived and
dedicated by Gloria Pearson. A
skit, "Madam X and the UCW",
was presented by Bessie McNee,
Amy Wiggins,. Elsie Irvin and
Olive Blake. The devotional
closed with the hymn, "Oh Love,
that will not let me" go.. and a
commentary on the hymn given
by Mrs. Bessie McNee.
A motion was passed in favour
of supplying new hymn books for
the choir if the music committee
so wishes.
