Mrs. Les Wardell of the fourth
concession of Huron Township
visited with the residents of
Princes Court in Kincardine.
Several of these are from the
Ripley Huron area. Among them
are Mrs. Laura (Tom) Welsh, Mr.
and Mrs. Harry, Ramsay. Mrs.
Dorothy Wardell brought along
her violin and entertained for
more than an 'hour with old time
music. The residents enjoyed
her playing these old time tunes
and wish to thank her very much.

Over a week ago Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Barnard returned to their
home in Ripley after a month's
vacation in the Southern States.
They spent the last week;, of
January and. most of February at
Port Aransas on Padre Island off

Mrs. Betty Scott, who was
recently a patient in Kincardine
and District Hospital undergoing
treatment, is back home in
Ripley.
Last Thursday evening Mrs.
George McLean drove her neigh-
bour, Mrs. Oraen ^ Rock to
Kincardine and District Hospital.
Mrs. Doris Rock had been sick at
home for a few days ..and the
doctor had her stay there for
observation and treatment. Rip-
ley folks wish Doris relief and
recovery from her illness.

and sons of Vanastra visited on he
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.

Johnson in Ripley.

A week agoo ,.Miss Christena
Robertson flew home from Flor-
i• da to Toronto. She had a week
holidaying at the home of her
uncle, John MacDonald in Clear-
water on the Gulf side of Florida.

Coming up to=morrow evening,
Thursday, March 9, is the annual
Achievement . Display of the
Ripley Night School classes in the
high school auditorium.. Starting
at eight' it is open to public
viewing and always ,features
many nice things.
Also coming up is the March
meeting next Monday evening of
the Ripley . Agricultur 1 Society
with president Jack Farrell in
'charge. Delegates to the Ontario
Agricultural Societies Convention
held in mid February in the Royal
York Hotel in Toronto will be
giving reports.
On Wednesday afternoon,
March the first, the monthl
meeting of the Purple Grov
Women's Institute was held at
the home of Mrs. Jack Farrell on
concession 12 east in Huron
Township with an attendance of
17 ladies and 4 children.
President, Mrs. Don Reid,
opened the meeting with a
reading. Scripture was read by
Mrs. Norval Stanley. Roll call was
answered by a sample of work or
hobby done with an explanation.
The minutes of the February
meeting were read and the
.treasuer's. report given by Mrs.
Cecil Sutton. There were several
items of business up for consider-
ation.
The Public Relations Officer_
convener, Mrs. Wayne Nixon,
then was in charge 'of the gest of
the , program which consisted of
Mrs. Morley Scott reading, .a
poem, followed by a report of .tlie'
Public Relations Officers' work-
shop. Mrs. Wayne Rhody aided
by Mrs. Roy Collins then conduct-
ed a very interesting contest. It
