Area 4-H meetings
TRINITY I 4-H
The third meeting of Trinity I
was held along with Trinity II at
the home of Mrs. D. A, Hackett.
The two clubs took up the, roll call,
Name a new leisure time activity
ypu would like to develop, and the
home assignments and business.
Together the two clubs discus-
sed a °family. tree, Mrs. Hackett
discussed reading, Mrs. Camp=
bell discussed house plants and
Mrs. Nixon discussed photo-
graphy. All members agreed to
quilt instead of tie the crib quilt
which is being made as a
community project. The rest of
the, meeting was spent quilting.
DONNYBROOK 4-H MEETING
Grace Bird, Huron Home
Economist demonstrated indoor
gardening at the meeting of the
Donnybrook 4-H club. Mrs.
Hardy,spoke about the art of
painting and showed ' the girls
paintings she has done. Mrs. •
Cecil Cranston ' talked about
photography and the girls discus-
sed the topic with her with lively ,
'interest. A snack was enjoyed at
the close of the meeting.
The fourth meeting of the
"Country ,Girls" was opened by
the .answering of the roll call,
What is a good citizen? Cathy.
then expanded the ideas on this
subject and led the discussion on
government including the three
different levels and the laws and
rights: -
Mrs. Robinson . and Judy had
books on hand about crocheting.
They showed the members how to
do the chain stitch, .tlie single and.
double crocheting stitch. Snacks
•were then served by Janice and
Mary Ellen.

KINGSBRIDGE WORKING
BEES
The second meeting of the
Kingsbridge 4-H club was held at
Mrs. Andrew's home on March
4th. The members decided to call
their club, the. Kingsbridge
Working Bees.
Quilting samples were made to
be mounted in the record books
unless the girls wish to make
them into pincushions.
The next meeting is at Mrs.
Scott's home on March 8th. ,
CLOVER' VALLEY 4-H

The fifth meeting of,the Clover
Valley Za,ny Zippers was held
March 2 at the home of Gayle
MacKenzie. All members an-
swered the roll call which was to
look at someone and see how their
clothes influence your feelings
toward that person.
Donna Elphick read the minut-
es of the last meeting. Karen
Metzger and Donna Elphick were
picked to ,write a speech to go
along with our exhibit at,Achieve-
ment Day and Karen also agreed
to have the next meeting .at her
home on March 8.
We answered several questions
under the headings Clothes
Communicate and talked about
fitting our blouse. Mrs. Fran
Elphick demonstrated the Plain,
French, Flat Fell and Double
Stitched seams. Mrs. Joyce
Elphick showed us facings. We
worked 'in pairs helping each
other tit her blouse. ,

Hackett of Trinity I, The topic,
Learning through Leisure,- was
featured.
The leader of Trinity I Mamie
Wilkins talked on Family Trees as
a leisure activity and how to go
°
about it. Dona Campbell, leader
of Trinity II, talked on plants,
showing pictures of various types
and how to care for them. Wendy
Nixon, assistant leader of Trinity
II, discussed photography and
how to plan the setting of our
picture also the different ways to
assemble your photos. Evelyn
Hackett, assistant leader of
Trinity I, discussed books, using a
display and poster -to show their
variety and reading pleasure.
, Each girl worked on the
community project, a guilt; crib
quilt and a doll quilt.
All members ,were treated to
cupcakes and grape juice. Trinity
II would like to thank Trinity I for
their hospitality.

KAIRSHEA KLOTHES KLOSET

The Kairshea Klothes Kloset
opened their fifth meeting with
the motto at Mrs. Doelman's on
March 3, 1978 at 4.00 p.m. The
roll call was answered by ten
members. Dianne McBride read
the minutes of the last meeting
which were approved. Kathy
Parker and Lorna Boyle showed
their ideas for our book covers.
We left deciding until next
meeting. We decided on our next
meeting. ,It will be at the home of
Mrs. Irene Dickie on March 13,
1978 at 4.00 p.m.
Mrs. Dickie read from her
book, then Kathy Parker contin-
ued. Mrs. Dickie read . more
followed by discussion. We
looked throuigh magazinesto find
people who value something ,or
possibly what ' they do. Mr's.
Doelman demonstrated, on her
sewing machine, the different
stitches we .can use on our
blouses. Our meeting closed with
the pledge.
