Congratulations' to Mr. and
Mrs. Russel Brindley (nee Louise
Crawford) ' who observed their °
45th wedding anniversary on
Saturday, January 28. They were
guests of hour at a family
dinner at the ll4onie of their son
and his wife, Lenard and Violet
Brindley, on Sunray. Mrs. Brind-
ley remembers that on their
wedding day in 1933 in Londes-
boro there was very little snow
and it was quite muddy.
Mr. and . Mrs. Jack McGee
visited her mother, Mrs. Haney,
in Wingham Hospital on Sunday.
She was taken from the nursing
home to the hospital during the
week.
Mrs. Gordon Riley was quite ill
in hospital ' in Goderich on the
weekend following viofent reac-
tion to an antibiotic shot.
Mrs. ' Cecil Blake spent last
week with her son Jim Blake,
Mrs.. Blake and son Sean near
Alliston. She came to the home of
her brother and his wife; Mr. and
Mrs. Dick Kilpatrick on the
weekend and- plans to return - to
her own home on Tuesday.
-Sympathy Is, extended to the
family of Mr. Bert Maize, who
passed away on Saturday night at
Huronview. He is survivedby a
son,__Delmar of Unionville, and a
daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Jerry La
Rocque) of St. Eustache, Quebec,
and their families. The body is
resting at Stiles' Funeral Home,
Goderich until Tuesday, when the
funeral will take place with
interment in Dungannon Cemet-
ery.
- Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McWhin-
ney visited their daughter, Lexie
and family, Mr. and Mrs. .Ken.
Murch, on Thursday andwere
stoimstayed until Saturday:
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hodges
and Annette motored to Toronto
on Thursday morning intending
to return that night' but had to
stay over until Friday when they
got home in the afternoon, having
had a nerve-wracking trip.

Rev. C. G. Westhaver preached
his sermon on "Love the Lord
Your God", the second in a
series. The children's story was
called, "The Treasurers in the
Snow". The Prayer of Confession
in the order of service for the day
was written by William Barcley,
well-known Scottish writer and
Bible expositor, author of numer-
ous Bible Study helps. Dr.
Barclay died in Scotland during,
'the past week.
The Session met for a brief
consultation with the minister
after the service.
The annual congregational
meeting will be held on Tuesday,
January 31st, at 8.00 p.m. in the
Sunday School room. The mem-
bers and adherents of the church
are requested to attend. -
• Choir practice will be held on
Thursday at 7.00 p.m.
The Explorer meeting will be
held this week ori Wednesday at
7.00 p.m. The girls are invited to
the manse for .refreshments at
8.00 p.in.

The M.V.F. met on Saturday
evening at the hone of Pastor and
Mrs. Lawrence. Fourteen young

The Ladies' Bible,Study group

A special service is being
planned for the evening of
February 5th when the Y.P. will
be in charge of the program.

volunteer work under the Men-
nonite Church is home after
spending one and a half years in
Kansas. She will be bringing a
summary of her work there.

Sunday message on the first
twelve verses of the fifth chapter
of Matthew, covering the first
half of the Beatitudes.

as M. Roderick_ MacDonald Was
known. Mr. MacDonald passed
awayin Minnesota, U.S.A, where
he had lived for several years. He
was 90 years of age arid visited
this community ',regularly. Mr.
David MacDonald of Lochalsh
attended the funeral of his uncle
Roddy in Minnesota on January
16.

Presbyterian Church to shower
her with gifts and good wishes.
The same evening Dianne was
guest of honour at the home of
her aunt, Mrs. Marion -Walden,
when relatives gathered to pres-
ent her with more good wishes

The 1978 County Annual
Wheat Meetings are commencing
this 'month.
Notices are being distributed
by approximately 23,000 'produc-
ers in the province by the Ontario
Wheat Producers' Marketing
Board.
The County Annual Wheat
Meetings are called in accordance
with the Ontario Wheat ' Produc-
ers' Marketing Plan and receive
reports on board activities and
elect the County Wheat Commit-
tees for the corning. year and to
conduct such other business as
niay properly come before the
meetings. i
Although not all counties are
affected, there are amendments
to the Ontario Wheat Producers'
Marketing Plan this year concern-
ing local board member represen-
tation and district boundaries.
The amendments were approv-
ed by Cabinet late in 1977.
The amendment changed the
number of local board members
from, twelve to ten' and the
number of districts from • nine to
ten. -
Bruce County - producers will
meet in the Legion Hall in Ripley
on February 13, while Huron
County wheat growers will gather
on February 14 in the ag office, in
Clinton, and Perth growers will
meet in the Town Hall in Mitchell
