The Ripley Atom "A” team
outpaced the Teeswater Atoms
6-1. Mitch Twolen led the scoring
with 2 goals and 2 assists. Danny
Wood and Doug Hawrylyehyn
each had one goal and one assist,
Kent Lowry had one goal and 3
assists, and Robert Campbell
scored the other tally.
In another game, the "A"s
kept the score tied until the
middle of the- second period, with
goals by Mitch Twolen from Kent'

visitors took over, for a final score

In Atom "B" play, Ripley won
over , two different Kincardine
teams, In the first, 5-4 win,
Darrell Verbeek scored twice and
had one assist. Ross Barrell and
Brian Barnes each had one goal
and 2 assists, while Robbie
Brooks had one goal. Other
assists went to John, Forester,
Lancers take easy win
defeat Goderich 9 -
On Sunday night the Goderich
„Sailors came to Lucknow, only to
be defeated by what was for the
Lancers an easy 9-4 score.
The Lancers were all up for the
game, despite the loss of several
of their best players, and
although goaltender Terry Taylor
did let in}i goals he came up with
a lot of good saves.
Carl Stanley scored the first
three goals of the first period, the
first coming from a set up by
Mark Chisholm and Andy Whit-
.
•by, the second on a pass from
• Andy Whitby, and 'the third on a
pass from John iqtKenzie.
Ian Montgomery •ended the
scoring in the first period with an
unassisted shorthanded goal.
The Lancers '-eame out in the
• second period and took a 7-0 lead.

Hayter and Steve Buchanan. The
Lancers,got those two back before
the end of the second when Gary
Courtney scored his first of the
season from Lynn Armstrong,
and John McKenzie scored the
final goal from Paul Frayne..
Kevin and Steve Merriam each
scored a goal for the Sailors in the
third but it was too little, too, late
and the Lancers just coasted to'
the win with a final score Lancers
9, Sailors 4.

In the January 24th game, it was
close again, 3 -• 2. Robbie Brooks
scored from Jeff Godfrey to tie
Jim DuPlantis goal, and then in
the third. period, John Forester
'took pass from Robbie Brooks to
go ahead, Jim Wilson of Kincard-
ine tied if -hp, and with a minute
and a half to go, Robbie scored
the winner unassisted.
Terry Irwin led the action with
2 goals and 1 assist .in a 3 - 1
victory over Tiverton. Kevin
• Boyle • scored the other marker,
and had 1 assist. Danny Smeltzer
assisted on .2 goals.
Again in 'Pee Wee "A" action,
Captain Terry Irwin led the win
over Lucknow 6•- 4. Terry scored 2
goals. Mike Moore had 1 goal and
1, assist, Kevin Boyle and Eric
vander Glas each had 1 goal, as
did Paul Harris. Shawn Morrison
had one assist, and. Gary Rut-
ledge did too.
Back in Tiverton, the score was
Ripley 5, Tiverton 2. The scoring
as well spread around, with
Mike Moore, Mike Nicholson,
Andrew Birnie, Larry Coiling and
Gary Rutledge all scoring. Shawn
Morrison and, Paul Keelan got
assists. •
Two nights later it was Ripley
4; Teeswater 3. Terry Irwin
scored the hat trick, while Paul
• Keelan scored the other marker.
Assists went to Eric vander Glas,
Larry Coiling, Kevin Boyle, Mike
Nicholson and Gary Rutiesise.
The Pee Wee '13" squad took
on the KinCa'rdine ,Broadway
boys', and this game ended in a.
• scoreless tie. Congratulations to
both goalies, Joe Nugent, Ripley
and Brian McKeachnie, Broad-
way. ,
• Another Pee Wee "B!' team'
took on a different "8" team
from Kincardine, with slightly
different results, 9. - 3 for
Kincardine. Dave Murray scored
two goals and had one assist, and
John Hawrylyshyn scored the
other marker.
Ross Stewart and Murray Scott'
combined for the opening *goal in
a ' Bantam game with Lucknow,
and Paul Irwin scored unassisted'
in the final minutes of play, but
O Lucknow took over for the middle.

In Midget play, Ripley narrow-
ly lost to Mildmay by a 3 - 2 score.
Jeff MacTavish combined with
Murray Coiling and Don Harris
on the first goal, and Greg
Stevenson scored the final marker
from Jeff MacTavish and Murray
Colling.
• Against Lucknow, it was Luck -
now 8, Ripley 5. Captain Greg
Stevenson scored twice and had
one assist. Bill Cameron • and
J ie dallant each had 1 goal and
assist, while Harold vander Glas

scored his first of the seasOn, Jeff
MacTavish, Brian Regier and
Brian' Lowry assisted, Other
members on this team are: Brent
Coiling and David Huber, goal,
Murray Colling, Don. Harris, Eion
MacKay, Ric Irwin, Casey Cer-
son, Paul Coiling and Robin
Stevenson. Lynn Armstrong and
Larry Irwin coach this team, with
Cecil Sutton' as manager.
The Juvenile •Girie played
Teeswater in a close fought game,
with- Teeswater scoring the only
goal of the game in the third
period. •
In'Juvenile Boys, Keith Pollock
and Robert Regier scored the first
two goals for Ripley unassisted,
and Brian Coiling • and Greg
Stevenson combined to tie Kin-
cardine at the end of the first
period. However, Ripley • only
managed one more goal, Mike
Pollock from • Bill Cameron and
Rick Clampitt, and Kincardine—
never looked back. Final ,score,
Kincardine 8, Ripley 4.
Port Elgin was the visiting
team on Sunday, and that score
was Port Elgin 11, Ripley 6. Mark
O Stanley and Bill Cameron each
scored twice, and Brian Coiling
and Chris McGarvey beat the
goalie once. Robert Regier had 3
assists, Larry Farrell 2, and Rick
Clampitt and Keith Pollock one.
