The Lucknow Sentinel, 1978-02-01, Page 14 Win $1 n The Lucknow and District Community Centre fund raising " campaign swung into action this week with the announcement of the $52,000 lottery boasting a weekly prize of $1,000 for 52 weeks with the first draw to be made on, March lst. All tickets will 'remain in the draw for the 52 weeks; one ticket gives a subscriber one chance 1 000 Community. lottery., each week for a full year to win $1,000.Q0. Only 1;500 tickets will be sold making the odds 1 in 28. Ticket holders may make arrangements to pay,the $104 for their ticket in a monthly, quarter- ly, semi-annual or annual pay- ment, making it possible for anyone who can manage $10.40 a month to get in on the draw. It is also possible for a group to buy one ticket, sharing 141e cost. ' All lottery proceeds will be used .to fund the new Lucknow and District Community ' Centre already under construction at Caledonian Park. The fund raising committee expects that the money raised from the lotterywill leave very • little be raised to pay the costs if the new centre. All tickets must be sold before the first draw on March 1st and the fund raising committee is planning a blitz of the area during the week of February 5th when you can purchase a ticket on the lottery, or make a donation which will be tax deductible. The barometer fell to a r rd low in the 108 years that the readings have been logged.
