require you. to remove any prefinished panelling that does not have an
acceptable 'lards spreadrating.
What
.it= -a -flame spread rated panel? The .flame spread rating • of a
prefinished panel is an index, 'indicating the, extent, of spread of flame on
the surface of the panel as, -determined in a fire test conducted in ac•
cordance •with the provisions of the Ontario Building Code. Section
.9.10:1 7.1 of the Ontario Building' Code provides that 'a flame spread
rating of 150 is acceptable for the exposed,surface of interior walls and
ceilings. So look for -the rating stamp on.the back .of the panels you buy
and chodse_ from those'•rated at 150. or less such as those shown on
this.page.
