The Lucknow Sentinel, 1996-11-27, Page 7WW book ready for Christmas
Residents of West
Wawanosh will be read-
ing about the history of
their township this
Christmas.
West Wawanosh town-
ship historians
announced this week that
the manuscript
Reflections of West
Wawanosh will be pre-
sented Dec. 20 at a book
launch at Brookside
Public School.
The massive book
went to the printers this
fall after many years of
hard work in researching,
doing interviews, writing
and of course proofread-
ing.
The idea of a township
history book was sug-
gested by John Foran to
township council in July,
1988. This is the first
time anything has been
compiled on the town-
ship.
The historians left no
stone unturned when they
went digging through old
census reports, marriage
and birth registries, old
newspapers, family histo-
ries, and diarys any
thanks are owe to the
people who gave of their
time and memories to
help this book become a
reality.
Reflections of West
Wawanosh is 688 pages
with over 650 pictures
and comes with a price
tag of $50. It wilt be
available from the town-
ship office or from com-
mittee members. There
are only 1,000 books
being printed and about
one third are already pre-
paid. Anyone wishing a
copy and who have not
prepaid are urged to do
so in order to ensure that
they will get a copy.
Committee members
include Lois Walden
528-3205, Marian Zinn
528-3710, June Robinson
529-7780, Rhea Hamil-
ton Seeger 529-7238.
Lots of laughs at Brookside
by Rebecca Snowden
and Terrianne Young
Our sides split with
laughter on Nov. 18,
when. the funny duo Le
Francais from Sarnia
came to tickle our funny
hones with their hilarious
antics. They performed a
one hour play called "It's
not my fault," about
problem -solving.
This play was a won-
derful follow-up to our
peace -maker and ,peer
mediator prograrris this
year.
It was a very success-

Advisory Council, who
brought the play to

become! And this year,
for the first time, we can

on his face!
Intermediate classes
are continuing with their
integrated studies units,
preparing notes, comput-
