She showed slides, taken during her travels, of var- ious flowers found in dif- ferent countries. Entertainment was also provided by Ira Dickie, Don Robertson, Jean Conley and Betty O'Donnell. The Beattie Ladder trophy was presented to Shirley Hackett for hav- ing had the highest num- ber of points at the May Hower Show. Betty O'Donnell was presented with her secre- tary's pin, and Shirley Bolt, treasurer, already having her pin, received an honorary gift. The incoming presi- dent, Frank Alton. received his president's pin, He thanked Shirley for her diligence as presi- dent and presented her with past president's pin. He commended all hoard members for their work, especially John and Alice Lamoureux for the wonderful flower boxes around town this past summer. Volunteer assistance with the spring planting would he appre- ciated. Frank also congratu- lated town council on the eye-catching, original signs leading into Lucknow, so appropriate for our Scottish town.
