The technology
employed in transmitting
=pages has groin in
leaps and bounds this
past decade. And now,'
right here in Lucknow,
there's a new business -
Gallant Communications
- that can help you keep
up in the field of commu-
nication, whether it be
business or residential.
Joe Gallant and Cheryl
Tyson purchased the
rural property of Eimer
• and Edna Culbert in
October 1994.
On c alwa,ys wonders
what entices new resi-
dents to the area. Joe
says they looked for two
years before deciding on
•where to purchase.
Cheryl did have some
pleasant childhood mem-
ories of the area. Her
uncle, Murray Couse,
was a manager at the
Bank of Montreal in the
days it was located at the
McDonagh. Insurance
16c,ation. Then there was
the close,proximity to
Gr' a ilan t
Communications
recently re -located ,to
Lucknow's main street,
where owner, Joe
Gallant's 23 years , of
experience with Bell is
at, your fingertips.
(Livingston photo) ,
Lake Fluro,n plus many
other amenities this. area
offers.
It was meant to be
five-year project leading
pa retirerMint," says Joe.
However, the jib Mar-
ket in Toronto changed
'earlier than expected and
Tie took the opportimity
to accept a buyout ,tack -
age from Bell Canada
where he had been
employed for 23 years.
So the twosome, who
share four grown chill-
dren - Tara, Josh, Jeremy,
Lori and two grand-
daughters, Jaden and
Haven, moved to
Ashfield Tow ship.
The entrepreneurial
spirit kicked in resulting
in Gallant Communi-
cations opening in early
1996 and recently re-
locating to the Sepoy
Village, intheformer
Dee Vees building.
Now Joe is in the
process of educating peo-
ple about the services he
offers. With the changes
M the CRTC regulations,
and because of Joe's
Qxpertise gained in 23
years with Bell, he can
repair '01' install any voice

ant has formed an
alliance with Empire
Telecommu ications
allowing .1,te to offer
Northern Telecom tele-
phone systems, voice
mail, wireless telephones
d Lid systems.
He is a sub -agent for
Bell Mobility giving you
access to personal pagers
and cellular phones.
As a Glentel agent, the
business can set yoi up
with satellite telephones
and on-site paging sys-
tems.
A most recent alliance
is with an alarm system
company.
Gallant Communi-
cations is basically a one-
stop shop for any of your
communication needs.
As an example, in a new
home construction envi-
ronment, Joe can pre -
wire for the telephone
Ss
and mart system and
even install state-sf-the-
art mind systems. And
the best part of it all - the
cost is abOut one-third of
what telephone compa-
nies charge.
Currently, Cheryl is
assisting Joe with the
iJl end of the business
includes fax
machines, answering
machines, residential and
two-line business tele-
phones, and.com-sharings
devices providing the
capability of running
multiple devices on a sin-
gle telephone line (i.e.
fax and telephone).
Gallant Communic-
ations has also added a
retail line of CDs and
tapes. Afterall, says
Cheryl, "Music is the
oldest form of communi-
cation."
The business is locat-
ed at 625 Campbell
Street, Lucknow, phone
528-2063. Hours are
Monday to Thursday 9
a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday
until 8 p.m. and Saturday
until 5 p.m.
