The main street refurbishing project
should be completed by the end,of this
month, says Reeve Stuart Reavie.
Barring any unforeseen circum-
stances, the last coat of paving will be
applied to Campbell Street beginning
the week -of Aug. 19. Preparation work
will take place the, week before.
"They figure there will be four days
restricted: traf fic on main street, • during
the laying of the asphalt," • said Reavie.

Installation of the new street lights
started last week and Reavie indicated
that work should be completed by mid-
August.
All theold lights on both sides of the
street will be removed. On the . south
side of the street, where the hydro ser--.
vices have been changed to enter build-
ings at the rear, the old poles and
wiring will also be taken down.

• Dare devil motorcyclist Tom Farr . and his stunt
show will be one of the highlights of this year's
Dungannon Fair and ramily pun. Days this, weekend.
Farr, the 1992 Canadian champion and 1994 top
Canadian . at all nationals attended, was booked for
last year's fair but broke his arm in an unrelated acci-
dent and had to cancel,
There will be four shows on Sunday, the main day
of eventsat the 137th annual fair. ,
The weekend gets kik started with a midway and
opal air dance, on Friday night (age of majority).
On Saturday, the whole village will have bargains
galore for you in their community wide yard ,sale: At
9 a.m. the Renegade Riders 4=X3 achievement day
horse show gets underway, followed at l .p.m by the
open horse' show with Western/English and gaming
classes.
The parade on Sunday.. starts. at 11' a.m. with the -
theme Good Old Days.
CIX radio personality Matt'O'Neil, who has
reportedly never driven a tractor, drill take part in the
antique tractor pull that starts at noon. ;
The baby show is at . 1 p.m. with mutton busting
(sheep riding) at 1:30 Kine and Lori Ladd will .enter -
Win the children at 2p.m.
Always drawing a large • crowd, the horse pull goes
at 2:30 .
At 3 p,m., the big crowningof the Prince, .cess
and Ambassador of the fair takes dace and a host of
arm wrestlers will exhibit their stretllg. at 330.

After its first year in
power, the ' Progressive
Conservative (PC) Party
of Ontario continues to
*enjoy the support of the
voting public, according
to party president Peter
Van Loan.
Van Loan was. in
Clinton last Wednesday
for - a meting to choose
delegates for the party's
upcoming convention,
which will be held in
October,- where he will
once again be seeking
the presidency..e noted
that this will be the first
full party convention
•since the party came into
power last year, and dur-
ng the.meetiing,the exec:
utive will be Chosen,
policies will be dis-
cussed, -and plans will be
started for the :next, elec-
tion, which will be held
in throe years.

membership of the party
